While I’m sure the composing for Halo 5 is either underway or nearly done, hell if I know which, I was thinking that maybe some of the musical scores with vocals could be sung in the language of the Sangheili? I mean, if Chief is on Sanghelios at some point, why not have songs sung in Sangheili? You’ve got fans breaking down and learning what bits of Sangheili they can find, throw them a bone and deliver some -Yoink- alien vocals in the process. Just saying, the Republic Commando soundtrack used Mando’a, the language of the Mandalorians from Star Wars, incorporated into a lot of the tracks. A precedent exists.
Hopefully you all get what I mean. If I can just get the Manly Monks chanting again, I’ll be happy, but giving the vocals some more character would be just as cool.
For very specific instances like being on Sanghelios I could totally back this.
Love the idea. Great way to add breath and depth to the atmosphere, especially if we are on Sanghelios.
It would be interesting to see what voice talents that they get to sing the parts.
“Wort wort wort, wort wort wooooooort, wort wort, blargh blargh”
Beautiful.
But what exactly are you angling at? Sure, we could learn a bit more, but the Sanghelios National Anthem is probably going to be sung in their native language, and I don’t want the background to sound like Darth Vader coughing.
Sangheili vocals?
BLASPHEMY.
Jiralhanae vocals are far more… prudent.

Just saying, Republic Commando sung in a fictional language and its music sounded just fine. I just want the music to have a bit more flavor.
In my best sangheili:
Wort.
It would be awesome if done right.

There language obviously consist of more than wort and blargh. Who’s saying a Sanghelios national anthem? I doubt they’d even have any like that. It would be easier to see it like a Gregorian or Buddhist chant. Or something similar to Halo 2’s Mausoleum Suite. At the start it almost sounds like Sangheili speaking in a whisper.
And yes I know it’s not Sangheili speaking and I know about the hidden message, I’m just saying it could be something similar.
What kind of music do you think Sangheili listen to?
I think the Unggoy probably listen to a lot of Reggae …
We know the Jiralhanae listen to a lot of House music; club mixes and what not as evidenced in Reach … the Grunts were into that too.
Kig-yar obviously listen to a lot of K-pop … obviously.
As for Sangheili … I think the more radical sect (Remnant) probably a lot of speed metal or 80’s Hardcore Punk. I think the Arbiter would listen to a lot of classical or some brooding dark orchestral stuff.
Prometheans listen to a lot of dubstep. I mean, they’re AIs, so … yeah.
The Prophets probably listened to a lot of Creed (they are quite religious).
I don’t know.

I don’t know why, but I always figured Elites would be Phil Collins fans. Don’t ask why, but it’s always made sense to me.
I’d like to have John sing the halo theme as a geneSONG. Imagine how cool that would be if John did the halo chant and something happened?

YO LOOK AT THIS DC REPPIN’ MY RC LIKE A BAWS!
Man, that game…
OT: I think this is brilliant. I can’t beli343 I’ve never seen this brought up before.
This would really set the tone very well for people who really follow and pay attention to the music of the franchise.
I loved the background music from High Charity in H2 (the ones that if played backwards are a message from gravemind/ MB), mainly because I at first thought it was Elite monks chanting…I’d love to hear something along those lines.
~ Duck.
And now I can only hear the Game of Thrones theme…
But with Worts.
I’m not going to lie, Sangheilios being in Halo 5 and Elite war chant music would please this Elite fan.
