Let's get one thing straight.. It's not COD

Ok guys I rarely post but hey what’s up and all that good stuff. I am here today to educate any new gamers 2007+ AKA the post Modern Warfare gaming period (Made it up).

Anyways I see people complaining all the time that some of the features Halo 4 has is copying Call of Duty I’m here to bust this myth once and for all.

First you must realize the reason you say Halo 4 is copying Call of Duty is because it is the most popular FPS franchise of all time. As much as it sucks it is a fact…
Now without further ado I give you a list of games that came out before COD 4 that “copied COD”:

1.Sprint- Doom 1993: Used sprint may not have even been the first game with sprint

  1. Classes- Team Fortress 1996: Possibly the first ever class based multiplayer game also came out way before COD.

  2. Weapon Skins- Counter Strike 2003: While not the oldest game it was the first fps that came to mind that used weapons skins…

Anyways these were the three most important things I hear people complain about so now you have no excuse for saying they are copying COD. Thanks you have a nice day

I got to give points for citing sources, but I have to say, I don’t think we need another of these threads. Haters gonna hate, no matter the facts.

Of course Halo isn’t stealing these features from COD because they’ve been in many other games way before COD had them. But the thing is that COD’s success with these elements is the reason why 343 is trying to add them to Halo, and from what we’ve seen it looks like they’ve done a fairly good job at it but I’ll remain skeptical until I get my hands on the game.

Now that I can agree with… Hopefully it will be implemented correctly especially the class based/ load-out gameplay

This. Enough already.

Quick question. How do you know it is because of CoD’s success that 343 is doing this? By hiding in their locker or something? For all you know, they were playing Doom a lot and thought, “Hey, Lets put Sprint in Halo”. It really is not good to assume if you dont know the inspirations.

Common sense.
The top selling FPS game of our time (and Halo biggest rival) is COD and then we find out that Halo 4 is adding in many features that are present in COD even though they haven’t been asked for by the community. What other explanation is there for that random decision?

What about specializations? I think those are going to be more under the hood perks that dont really make you better then anyone else. Thats not to say all the other perks are unbalanced because they are. Halo has always been about 2 men walking into each other and the legitimately better man walks away. Thats why cod sucks cuz perks dictate your kills, and thats not going to happen to halo anytime soon
