Let's Discuss Promethean Vision

Hello everyone. Today, I’d like to discuss Promethean Vision. In this topic, we’ll discourse and break down this armor ability; its pros, cons, effect on the battlefield, and proposed changes.

Promethean Vision:

The Z-5080 Vision Modification system, colloquially referred to as “Promethean Vision,” is a short-range full-spectrum enhancement package that enables users to detect shapes and movement through solid barriers. Coupled with the VISR 4.0 tech suite, this software is one of the most formidable leveraged by GEN2 armor systems.

Pros:

• Allows users to see enemies through walls
• Allows users to be more situationally aware

Cons:

• Distorts environment
• Notifies enemies upon ping

The good, the bad, and the ugly:

Good: Promethean Vision will naturally speed up the pace of the game as more players will be aware of their surroundings.

Bad: Promethean Vision will be overly popular amongst new and unaware players, resulting in the development of bad habits.

Ugly: The communal uproar of premature and incogitant anger may result in the permanent “nerfing” of Promethean Vision, rendering it nearly useless.

Effect on the battlefield:

Promethean vision will, as stated before, speed up the pace of the game. However, the effect will be subtle. I believe Promethean Vision is just as, if not, less effective than the motion tracker. A skilled or experienced player is capable of pinpointing enemy’s position through the motion tracker. Promethean Vision facilitates this skill, which is why I refer to it as the “nooby radar.”

Proposed Changes:

I don’t believe Promethean Vision requires any sort of change. Perhaps the recharge rate could be slightly slower to deter spamming. Other than that, I believe this armor ability will be less popular amongst experienced players.

meh, just take it out, i like all the other AA’s but this… mehhhh im not convinced 343 said if you had good awareness you wouldn’t need it, that is a lie, a flat out lie, i cannot see where player are on the literal other side of the map… i hope they tone it down but ill live with it.

i made a thread like this. and tried to convy the logic your saying. a majority still disagree. tis sad i know. but i guess we will have to wait till the game comes out for most to actually see the light.

Promethean Vision doesn’t allow you to see enemies on the opposite side of the map. Its range is limited; it’s slightly further than the radar.

This ability is alright, but alot less people wouldn’t mind it if it were restricted to playlists…

It’s like the Halo CE for PC hackers.
They used to ‘Bluewall’ all the time. It’s an unfair advantage that only lasts for what, 10 seconds?
I use it, and I don’t exactly rage when I’m killed by/with it.
I don’t understand why people are making such a big deal over it. If anything, slap on the ‘Sensor’ ability, and you’re sure to win that gunfight.

Zombie thread! Lol The predictions these guys made were true though, right on target. PV is really good in Dominion though, for those crouched camo players defending base.

I love Promethean Vision. I love how everything turns blue and most of my enemies are right in red. I always have trouble finding enemies on a map, so Promethean Vision helps a lot. And for some reason I’m always better at aiming with Promethean Vision turned on too.
