Let's compare Bungie and 343:

Do not make nonconstructive posts.

Bungie are a family of amazing game developers. They put their heart and soul into every aspect of every game they develop and their work really hits home with quality and emotion. In my opinion, while making Halo they were the best gaming developer in history and couldn’t be toppled until 343 came into play. Their work is legendary and will be remembered for decades, maybe even centuries. Bungie heavily influenced the entire gaming industry and made it what it is today and there will never be a way to thank them for the work they’ve done.
343 are just businessmen.

For me, Destiny has gone a long way to tainting their image.

Quoting myself from another thread.

There’s no justifiable explanation behind half the mistakes they make.

I feel like this should just be locked right now. This isn’t at all worthwhile and will only bring out the Bungie vs 343 crap.

I feel like you should be banned right now. You offer nothing to this site.

At least he didn’t start a post suggesting that you be fired from your job.

I see you’re quite the edgelord. I too am pretty edgy.

Thank you for your insider information regarding two of the industries largest studios! You must be so lucky for having been able to work at both places, Noble 6!

Somebody is awfully upset around here today. It’s the weekend, lighten up.

Ok let’s compare them.

Bungie is a group of businessmen who want to make the most money out of Destiny.
343 Industries is a group of businessmen who want to make the most money out of Halo 5.

Bungie is now a shell of it’s former self. They ruined their image that they built up with the Halo series.
343 is not like Bungie at all. They are willing to try new things to make their interpretation of Halo. Although their new ideas are not always agreed upon in the community.

So, basically, 343 for story and Bungie for multiplayer.

343I is passionate about their vision but their vision isn’t necessarily compatible with what Halo is.

To me Halo Ce had very little story (I mean what little it did have was executed fine, but still), Halo 2 had a good story, and Halo 3 was just a bland continuation of Halo 2. Yet Bungie also set the foundation of the expanded universe that 343I works on. Nor did Bungie create a generic terminator story with Halo 5, or require extensive knowledge of the expanded universe just to understand what’s happening in the game’s themselves.

So overall I can’t say 343I is necessarily better with story.

What about Halo 4? It had arguably the best writing and characterization of the franchise.

I don’t really get why everyone praises Halo 4’s story. I never really experienced this “humanization” that everyone’s always talking about, and again falls back on my extended lore point. The villain was introduced out of nowhere and killed off in one game before we even had the chance to get to know him. It was okay, I guess?

it be better to relate 343 to the current trends that are happing inside the Gaming industry,

Commander Palmers’ a b*tch.
Lasky is cool but not memorable.
Roland is like Lasky but suffers the same problem.
Didact was killed in the comics.
Jul only lasted one game and was killed in the first mission of H5.
Master Chief talked way to much and doesn’t have any one-liners.

Overall I have to disagree with you on that one.

They’re certainly not the biggest offenders of terrible business practices (cough EA cough), but that doesn’t make them innocent either.

I hated how much Chief spoke in 4…

But Roland and Lasky… They should get their own game.

Agreed past and present they tend to never give a good overall satisfying support post launch of their games.

Is that right? Well that’s good information to have.

I kinda just assumed 343 were programmers, designers and artists, just like the people that work at any other game studio.

And you’re saying that they’re actually just businessmen, and that they don’t make games because they want to or because creating something for others to enjoy gives them fulfillment, they’re actually purely in it for the money?

Thank you for bringing this information to everyone’s attention, we should all spread the word.

I have to say though, for businessmen they’ve managed to make a pretty decent game, I’m impressed. Must have been hard work though, it obviously distracted them so much they forgot they would make more money if they charged us for all the DLC.
