Lets Bring space battles back in Halo 4

Reach Saber battles were a lot of fun and it was sad you could only experience it for 1 mission.

I think that space battles should be a game mods for custom games and MM.

have an 8 v 8 battle with Pelicans, Longswords, shortswords, Sabers, etc.

We could even launch out of UNSC and Covenant Frigates.

There could also be an inbasion like mode where a Human must drive and escort a Pelican to a Covenant Frigate and plant a bomb.

Thoughts?

I loved the mission in reach aside from the limited AI shooting me instead of the banshees, so I’m all for it in Halo 4.

YES! I loved space battle games even before Reach (Star Wars: Rogue Squadron for the N64 being one of my favorites). When I saw this for the first time (because I played Campaign before MM), I was thrilled because I thought there would be a MM game mode like this. Apparently, it got scrapped for being too unrefined. That was the biggest let down in Reach I’ve ever had. Please bring this back and put it in Halo 4’s MM, it would be awesome (if done properly).

but why would you not want space battles?

I literally raged at my friend over the mic when Sage Merrill said “This is only one part of the game, Halo is not a flight sim” Because the space part was by far the moist innovative thing in Reach. Hell I wouldn’t even be mad bro if they copy and pasted Star Wars Battlefront II space combat with Spartans and Elites. it deserves to be apart of Halo.

Got a reason for that statement? I really do not see the problem with innovating Halo’s gameplay. We can’t just play the same game for 10 years now can we?

Like Star wars Battlefront 2, where you have to attack the enemy ship, and you can board it and disable the engines and stuff from the inside, attack the ship from the outside or eliminate the enemy fighters.

I tthink this would work well with Halo. However, if this is going to be presented in Halo 4, 343 will have to make some modifications if they dont want to copy SWBF2.

I loved that about swbf2, but I really doubt it would come out, if it did it would a part of invasion not slayer, most likely part of assault like battle front but who knows.

If it did come out as its own playlist it would be awesome to be able to use pelicans, vultures, long swords, and sabres, where the copies would have

The only problem is that bf2 was a third person game so the resolution was acceptable as shity whereas h4 is expected to have the best graphics of all time.

I definitely liked it in campaign but I feel it could have been implemented a little better…

It felt more like they just tacked it on, it didn’t feel like it flowed with the rest of the game, just like, “oh here’s an open part, let’s throw it in there.”

No way I would condone it being in MP though, unless it was a 100% separate playlist.
Halo is an FPS at heart, not a fighting game, not a flight simulator and not a first-person grenadier. The core should always be arena-style shooting and everything else a secondary.

No one will complain about things being unbalance and stuff like it would if put into MM.

But you dont have to follow the Battlefront 2 formula for it to be awesome. Like for instance what if you combined it with Invasion and put one side strictly on Offense and Defense. For instance lets say the Spartans have to board a super carrier and manually destroy its glassing port with a charge to keep it from glassing a planet.

Spacefight in MM? I don’t know. I mean the more the better, but I just don’t see it.
