Reach had potential, and overall it was a decent game compared to most other games that are created. But as far as compared to Halo games, it was a joke. It was frustrating, unbalanced, and completely casual-driven. I don’t want to see Halo 4 being taken down the same path. You can make a good game that competitive AND casual players can enjoy. It’s entirely possible; look at Halo 2.

Oh well, sucks for you that you didn’t like it.
Personally I thought it was a breath of fresh air after the staleness which was Halo.

-Thank god BR with Zero Blooms Back Now scrubs like you have to have skill it play.
-Only Thing You need is sprint AA ruined Reach as far as I am concerned.
No Armor lock

Everything was great in halo reach except the competitive part… I won’t deny that… The only thing halo 4 needs that is from halo 3 is the competitive part but if they don’t have it will still be a great game…

The “competitive part”? You mean most of the game? Nothing about Reach was competitive. AA’s were unbalanced, player speed was too slow, and bloom was broken and random. That game was trash.

I know that. That’s the whole point of this thread, to get a discussion going in the hopes that Halo 4 isn’t as bad as Reach.

The aa’s were balanced except armor lock… People just hate aa system because it changed the game a lot from halo 3. Everything was fine with idea in the beta though… I didn’t see complaining there about it… Bloom was overally broken… Just needed to be fixed… It wasn’t that slow of a game…

It was a horrifically slow game. I’m tired of explaining how AA’s sucked so I’ll keep it short:
Jetpack: Ruined the notion of map control and setups. Oh, you lost top control? No problem, jetpack on up there.
Evade: Made escaping after you made a stupid move much too easy.
Sprint: Same as Evade but on a lesser scale. This AA isn’t so bad, but Sprint + beatdown was annoying as hell.
Armor Lock: Broken for obvious reasons.
Drop Shield: Annoying in the beginning of the game, but it was mostly removed so I don’t care.
Active Camo: Promoted extremely slow-paced gameplay. Made snipers overpowered, especially on terrible maps like Hemorrhage. Nothing says “exciting and fast-paced” like people camping in corners with everlasting Camo, right?
I don’t mind change one bit. I DO mind when that change is half–Yoinked!-, broken, and makes the game slow and casual-friendly.
