I for one am I fan of the classic halo colors and I always thought black on a Spartan was always cool. Steel was implemented as a replacement but never really settled in to me so I hope in H4 they bring back black.

I was so happy they put black in the reach beta, but then it was replaced by steel. WTF??
I’m guessing it’s because it’s harder to aim at black spartans when in dark areas, but that wouldn’t change the fact (opinions) that black is the best colour ever.

Dark brown actually works better though, makes you hidden in any enviroment, even snow.
But yeah, bring back the black.
Blood Red Visor + Jet Black Armor = Instajizz.

Halo PC and Custom Edition had Black.

Black is an automatic advantage in multiplayer. You were ridiculously stupid not to pick it in the days of CE.
And now with the current matte finish on the Spartan IV’s, the advantage would amplify further. And then you have everyone using the same color which takes away from the uniqueness and variety you all crave so much.
I hate the argument that, “well, if it’s such an advantage, you can use it too.” it’s the same reason I hate AAs in Reach, because they aren’t balanced. You know what the counter for Camo is? Camo. Jetpack? Jetpack. I don’t want to be forced to use something just so I can play on an even level.
Tell you what. Yes, they can put it in matchmaking, but when you enter a dark room, glow in the dark takes effect. You glow 10x brighter than the energy sword every time you move into a shadow or crevice. Any dark, glowy maps like Midship and Zealot also cause you to glow due to black light effects. Seems fair . . .

I know what you mean. I miss having Black as a color. Now it’s White, Gray, and Dark Grey.
