Let's be skeptical about -Warzone- "Firefight"

First of all I not trying to rain on anyone’s Parade, I’m just not certain that -Warzone- “Firefight” will be exactly what we all are hoping for.
Also It looks like WZFF is the last planned and currently announced update H5G, so It’s likely the send off and last hurrah type of thing like Titanfall’s Frontier Defense.
Finally It’s going to be highly questionable how Warzone & Firefight are merged.
Which bring on many questions like:

Will WZFF have it’s own maps?
Will WZFF have recycled and or B-side maps?
How is the Req system likely going to be used in WZFF?
How big will Party size be?
Will it be team based and have a team vs team or individual player vs player scoring?
Will WZFF add previous enemies like the Flood, Brutes, Engineers, Buggers, and Jackals?
How much will WZFF payout in Req points?
How long will WZFF matches average?
How much of standard Warzone content will be recycled directly and reused in Firefight to cut corners in development?

Well, none of us will know until the it releases will we

I’m guessing we’re defending objectives in firefight. I think what would make it more interesting if it also included warzone assault maps too to keep the rotation big. As for enemies it is the standard prometheans and covenant. No sense to make new A.I as they can just reuse them. If its warzone the team size is most likely 12 players working together to keep each other alive and defending the objective. In the teaser there were jackals, grunts and elites attacking the garage so we’re probably trying to stop them from overrunning the objectives like how warzone assault is

Im just excited they listened lol

Lets just be happy that 343 is listening to what we have been asking for! Im sure they will read the forums and make tests and all that jazz regarding firefight up until release and they will make it good. They have earned my trust for now!

I want to know if the revive mechanic from the campaign will be in play.

I think that so far the updates have been pretty ‘meh’ and it’s crazy to assume we’re already looking at the last update. Nothing’s really here yet that’s going to keep people playing or bring new people. Infection will change that, but until then, useless weapon skins, armors and assassinations that do nothing for the game, some reskinned maps, and stances that do have absolutely nothing to do with gameplay (seriously does anyone get excited about a new pose they can sit and watch their spartan statically sit in?). Grifball? Grifball only gets people hyped because they remember back to the Halo 3 days, it still has very little in terms of content. It gets boring, it’s reprepetitive. They should’ve added a fiesta playlist over grifball, at least it would have more variety. Keep gravity hammers and assault, allow the players to make grifball maps. The same problems remain, not enough content. BTB needs a serious map update (and assault), the arena maps are all bland and boring and warzone gets old.

Infection hopefully will change this. Went back to MCC for some H3 customs, and every fun game was infection. Every single one of them, and there were so many, we played for hours and were never bored.

I very much doubt we’ll get a whole set of brand new maps for it, more likely to be the same warzone maps with added objectives and/or buildings.

I also doubt that they’ll add the Flood, Brutes and other past enemy types, simply due to the colossal amount of development that all of those assets would require. We’d be talking entirely new character models, voices, weapons, sound, foley, animation etc. Again, more likely to be Elites, Grunts, Hunters, Jackals and Prometheans. With existing bosses thrown in as an end-of-round battle.

We’ll just have to wait until it comes out, although i think it will probably have at least 1 map made for it, and the rest will be the other warzone maps

The Grifball arena is built on Avalanche. Really odd it didn’t get added to BTB with this update.

There’s still a few more updates left, and by the end of the sustain period we’ll be looking at a relative truckload of content - being fair to 343. That being said, there are a few areas of the game that need some serious love, Warzone and BTB being the largest. Warzone’s maps and gameplay have been rinsed and refined so much that most games are a one-sided washout, and BTB just had serious map and mode problems to begin with.

Arena is probably faring the best of the three, with the addition of the new map and Assault it’s genuinely got a great variety and rotation going on. That’s all I’m playing nowadays. The “bland and boring” Arena maps don’t really bother me personally, I’d rather they play well and look mediocre than play awfully with amazing graphics. Most are pretty good looking anyway for a locked 60 fps Xbox title.

We can agree on the REQs and cosmetics, they definitely cater to the casual fan base (not that it’s a bad thing in principle). At this point I’m not too sure why armor skins and weapon attachments are still being released, but each to their own I guess.

I highly doubt it will be it’s own update at all. Could be that were getting the Ghosts’ of Meridian Warzone map, some Halo Reach Throwback Reqs “M392 DMR, and maybe Falcon”, some new Hog Reqs (I personally think we have enough, but why not?), and Warzone Firefight in the March Update like coughcartographers giftcough.

They’re sitting on a ton of amazing BTB maps which could be thrown into rotation at this point. We’ve all seen Sandtrap, Valhalla and Avalanche remakes, along with many others. I’d be curious to know why they’re not releasing them ASAP, unless they really are stretching the content out artificially.

infection is not even that great of a mode and gets just as repetitive. Its actually really generic and only benefits customs in the way of forced team switch. Otherwise it not that important as a whole

The next update will likely be infection and a new warzone map, I can’t see firefight releasing alongside all of that. Always happy to be proven wrong though!

I think that is what they are doing. Which doesn’t make sense because maps are a dime a dozen with forge. They could be switching in and out new BTB forge maps monthly.

343 is doing good so far, people complain to much

I really hope we can play Warzone Firefight in custom games like in Reach and have it be just as customizable.

Honestly, I wouldn’t care that much if they “recycled” maps for Warzone Firefight, because well… that’s what Firefight did. Re-purposed play spaces for Firefight - granted many campaign areas, but Warzone maps are already on par or larger than those areas.

We never had flood in ff if I remember right and if you look at the video youll see that they are using reqs so you can use cards, and jackels are in just regular warzone and you can easily see them in the video, once again if you look at the video you’ll see that the map is arc so yes it is using the warzone maps, and the video shows 5 people running so my guess is the teams are of 5 people
