Halo’s Warzone is pay to win. The end.
I’m a self proclaimed Halo fanboy. I love Halo. I’m enjoying Halo 5 so far. I don’t hate 343. But, Warzone is undeniably pay to win.
It is so blatantly obvious after having watched a few people on Twitch dump $40-$50 in REQ packs, and then having spent a few hours playing it myself without paying extra.
Just one example is the scorpion tank. I played MP for 5 solid hours last night (from midnight - 5AM). During that time I earned enough REQ points to open 4 gold packages. I received exactly 1 scorpion tank. 5 hours, and 1 tank. That would be perfectly ok with me, however, people who drop a bunch of money in REQ packs end up with 15-20 or more tanks. It doesn’t matter that they have to wait to level up during each match to use them, leveling up is easy. What matters is that they can drop a scorpion every single match, and I can only drop one once an afternoon.
If that’s not pay to win, I don’t know what is.
No, it’s actually not.

I won my first ever war zone match last night without using a single req pack.
No it’s not.

That isn’t a valid argument. Just because it’s possible to win without paying, it doesn’t mean paying DOESNT help.

If you outplay the other team then you can get your REQs earlier and you don’t have to go into Warzone if you don’t have a lot of cards. I won all 4ish of my Warzone games last night without paying for a single bonus thing, and neither did any of the 5 other people I was playing with. And we dominated all but one game, and that one we still won by over 100 points. It does help if you pay, but you can win without paying if your team/teamwork is better. If you are more skilled then you can still beat another team even if they pay for more stuff

u cant call in whatever u want when u want. u have to get the req power first. then even when u call it in, its 1 time use.

“It does help if you pay”
Which is exactly what pay to win is.
I’m not bashing the game. Im just asking that we be honest about it.
I didn’t have a single scorpion in any REQ pack I got, but I was still able to take out 3 of them through highjacking and a rocket launcher. If anything I wasted their money lol that’s fine with me
It isn’t hard to kill scorpions one good grenade does the trick.
I kinda agree with you… once it’s time for the big vehicles to do drop, it becomes a bit p2w for my taste

The packs are random. It’s pay 2 waste your money.

I’m not changing the definition of pay to win.
If we can call Warframe pay to win, we can call Warzone pay to win.
Yeah I disagree… so even if they paid for req and somehow managed to pull 20 tanks… that would only last them 4 hours of gameplay assuming they only dropped 1 a game… that would be expensive pretty quick ive yet to use anything but a few ghosts and have been tearing up with a br and magnum quite well… let him drop $10+ per hour of gameplay. I personally think its well balanced for noobs and vets alike
There is undeniably an advantage to those who have the better cards, I can see where you are coming from OP.
For example, if I have no Reqs I can buy a normal Warthog. My enemy who just bought 100 gold packs can buy an ONI Warthog, which costs the same but is more powerful. They clearly have an advantage.
However, I am hesitant to call it pay to win. If they could spawn an ONI Scorpion when the rest of us are at Energy level 1 it would be a different story, but it’s balanced relatively well. There are still options for those without many req cards.

Exactly.
I I just honestly thought it would balance out better. It doesn’t. There’s a clear gear advantage for purchasing REQ packs after having played all night.

no money ->play to earn req
no time -> pay money to req
lot of game like this
but armor unlock in req? i don’t like it
