i see people all over the forums, youtube, and rumble asking 343 for pre- and post-game lobbies.
and simply put
i agree
and i also feel as though it has not gained enough attention
now i am aware of the arguments on both sides of the issue. and i am also aware that game chat exists it is just off by default
i guess what i see is a game that has lost its sense of community. and i feel this way about the mcc as well in some regards
In Halo Reach one of my favorite things to do was to look at the different armors of the other players before my match would start. why… it would show me just how diverse the game really is… different strokes for different folks ya know
same with chat,
while yes there have been and always will be toxic people i know of so many other people who would make friends just by talking and coordinating with other people. and right now, i can’t help but feel that everything is so covered in bubble wrap that the community is suffocating.
what i love about Halo is people from all walks of life could hop online and find somebody that they know likes the same thing they do… Halo… the harder you make it for people to connect the more people will leave the game for a better product. what’s sad though is that they removed pre- and post-game lobbies from both infinite and mcc and it seems like a relic from the past.
I would like to see it return, I’d like to see the guy who decked out his infinite armor and looks insane, might give me an idea of what i want to do. i want to hear people in the lobbies talk about halo again, obviously have the mute button ready but while you’re at it add the party up button… there are two sides to every coin and by focusing on preventing the bad we have forgotten the good.
but what do you guys think, it’s something i could see being added if enough people ask for it.
I love this idea. More so for lobbies post game with the easy ability to invite one another to party up.
Agree 100%. As you stated always be toxic players but it would be good to be able to have general conversation about the game or meet people to team up with.
The good of voice chat outweighs the toxicity. If someone is toxic, you can mute them. Though maybe a vote kick would be nice. When I played TF2, if someone was being really awful to people, they almost always got vote kicked.
Played a match of Infinite the other night where everyone had mics and were joking around the whole time, it was great.
Community should be encouraged.
I said it in the last thread that a post game lobby would be good but a pregame lobby is intrusive to the people who dont want to spend an extra minute or two not playing the game each time they search. Not everyone wants to socialize with other players and some people only have like 30mins a day to play.
Especially since you can do everything in a postgame lobby that you would in a pregame lobby other than say hi to your team or talk smack
Looking at players armors in this game is kind of depressing anyway because they either have all battlepass stuff and look the same as everyone else. or they have some stuff they spent $20+ dollars on that will never appear in the store again. No unique color combinations to see since everyone has one of a few dozen coatings. So theres nothing to “give you and idea of what you want to do”
I miss it 1000%. In my Halo 2 and 3 days, I’ve talked and made friends with people from all over the world. I would sever jump on my Xbox and play with people in Europe and Canada. When I was 15, I thought that was the coolest thing ever. Halo 3 is when I really started making friends. I’d trash talk with people, then we’d team up and start laughing together. I miss it man.
Seeing the different armors people had and asking them what they did to get it. It was a way of people sharing their insights on things. Like the Hayabusa armor. Would have never known how to get it unless I talked to someone who had it. Then, if they were nice enough, we’d run the campaign together to find the skulls. Then with my knowledge, I’d help someone else find it. The Halo cummunity is full of people of all walks of life. Everything from people helping people, to the insane trash talk that made my gut hurt from laughing so hard. I miss those laughs…
Seriously they only focus on the negative aspect of the communication system. I’m in California, Back in the day I had friends in Canada, Oklahoma, Illinois, New York. Obviously like everyone else that plays online. So why would 343 try to take away communications. Or make it difficult to use. Is it for the crowd of children that aren’t playing Halo.?
I’m with you on this one brother.
