Firstly, this is just me posting from a competitive pov.
The pistol shouldn’t be replacing the br start. Why? Let’s be honest. Whatever competition settings are released will be br start. Why the hell would they be implemented into “competitive playlists”? I understand that the br represents a skill gap but isn’t that the point of competitive? To see whose better? So why give us a weapon, tell us its the replacement for the br start when we all know br start will be in events and such? Stupid idea, 343.

It really does.
They had a chance to finally establish concrete competition rules and design a game around the exact same settings as HSC to create a unified experience… and they decided to spawn people with AR and Pistol, and have Radar on.
Completely missed opportunity. Giant oversight. Makes no sense whatsoever.
Never thought of it that way, good point, since I don’t play professionally I like the way it is, but there is no arguing with your point unless they make a hardcore playlist at some point, but who knows when that will happen.

Exactly, for the people who don’t play competitive settings there should be no problem. But its like playing football as quarter back all season long and the day of the super bowl, having that same quarter back become the kicker. For what purpose did you have the team train in that fashion? If it was a social playlist, fine. No problem. But they have competitive settings.
I don’t know man. The pistol is a beast now and competes very well with the BR, the exception being the BR just performs better at a slightly longer range. I completely disagree with your point.

> The pistol takes more skill than a BR. You have shorter zoom and require more shots to be landed. I bet that the pistol replaces the BR.
Doesn’t matter so as long as its a pistol ppl will refuse to hear this.
They are treating the BR as a power weapon, why is it so hard for people to accept?
People are so lost without their BR start, I saw one person that literally wouldnt fire a bullet until he has a dmr or br. Why give you a gun to start that is so well rounded you never have to use anything else? Once you get your sacred BR you will not pick up or use another gun until you absolutely need to or you see a rocket/sniper… Maybe its just me and im wrong but seems pretty ridiculous to me…

You’re missing the point. The point is that in tournament and competitive gameplay, it will be br start. Why make competitive play lists so?
Oversight. I’m not defending them or giving them a pass by any means, but it’s likely their competitive lists don’t have the BR start for the same reason that there are other oft-mentioned player issues: it feels like they didn’t have enough time to finish their game. From the TV advertisements having nothing to do with the game besides there being a stand-off between Chief and Locke to the twitter statements that they prioritized development over content, the game feels like it was being rushed to meet a certain deadline, with the caveat that they would add everything else in as time passes. At least they said the content would be free, and I’m guessing that other QoL and makes-sense changes are going to be coming in their updates. As a vet, I get where you’re coming from completely: train the way you fight. But someone dropped the ball and they’re all busy chasing it down hill to catch it at the moment.

if you want that radarless BRs only garbage then fine, but don’t try to drag it into main playlists.
ask for an MLG playlist and keep that crap there where it belongs.
I just really hate running around with a pistol. I hate the look and sound of it. Change the sound and look to a rifle but keep it performing the same and I wouldn’t mind it so much.

The BR in this game does not represent a skill gap. It’s easier to get a kill with a BR in this game than a pistol.
The reason so many people are complaining about the pistol is because they’re bad at it.
Because it’s hard.
Because you have to be good to use it.
This is the exact thing you want, you just don’t realize it.
