Let us not forget

Halo is s not easy…never was…still isn’t…but it has a lot of new features that support the OG guys like myself and it helps new players to see more of the dynamics of multiplayer.

I remember HP Darkman, Strangle Purple, the first Halo CE tournaments before quick reload, double melees, and the 3 pop pistol were discovered. Guys walked around trying to moe ppl down with ARs.

I watched the likes of Zyos come and go. Orge 2 become the best to ever play…I watched my best friend AcidiaN sponsored by God Father gaming end Zyos career. I saw Karma be the most destructive Halo FFA gamer their ever was. I know Solshy personally, I remember Walshy…these days Snipedown, Lethal…they are some of the best. I got squashed by Commando and Solo in Halo one at my local gaming center. AcidiaN, myself and OneEyeShut got dominated to the tune of 50-5 in a team slayer because Solo and Commando knew quick reload, double melees and spawn points. I remember that…and I now I remember the time I’ve put in as a gamer. Lan parties…Halo has come a long way.

Halo started as a game that came in a 500 dollar bundle for me with the original Xbox…system link and bragging rights.

I grew up on Quake 2 TDM, UT, and Q3.

Games where over the years high skill gap and minimal return on investment skill gaps evolve(d) over time.

Such a wonderful thing to experience; learning how to push the sandbox.

Halo Infinite has added mechanics that previous Halo’s have never included:

Curb sliding, snap sliding, power up holding (intentional), weapon drop combos, meat shielding kinetic damage by walking through your hurt teammate, grapplehook tech, enemy marking system (I now press up mid BR battle on Halo 3 MCC too often by mistake)… a non-exhaustive list I’m sure.

We’re only in year one and this week somebody learned and shared that the oddball skull is a physical object you can throw at wall, jump off the skull while holding pickup, and traverse ever higher

I cannot wait to see the sandbox abuse by year 3.

I’ve been around since Halo 3 myself, well over 150k matches on all systems at this point. It was never easy, nothing against fair skilled players is! Sure is rewarding though seeking improvement
