Let us earn credits in the battle pass like every other F2P game

If you are going to make us pay for the battlepass, and put items in the store? AND have a $60 campaign, you need to give us some sort of way to earn credits and that should be through the battlepass. The bundles in the store would not be as bad if you just let us earn more credits through the BP like Destiny and Fortnite. You get more credits than you spent on the BP and that’s how it should be done. Fix this.

And I’m pretty sure the “whales” everyone is talking about would still shell out the money right away. I mean, look at how many people already paid their way to 100 in the battle pass, despite being able to do that by playing. There is definitely room for earning credits and still making a profit.

At least be accurate in your comparisons. You don’t earn silver in Destiny, you earn silver dust. A totally different currency that has an insanely low value and only applies to about 5% of the store at any given time. Destiny also paywalls actual activities behind their pass, which Infinite is not doing. Infinite pass content also doesn’t expire.

Destiny 2 has new story content and free events, a load of armour, cosmetics and weapons in their BP. Halo does not.

Destiny 2 seasonal story content is often akin to 4 actual missions and a lot of superfluous fetching to round things out. The “free modes” aren’t free if they’re part or the paid pass, which has been the case in I’d say maybe 3/4’s of their passes thus far. One to two new sets hardly constitutes a load, and several cosmetics pee season that still require premium purchases doesn’t help your argument. You also can’t get access across the board without the relevant expansion, which costs money.

I’ve been playing D2 for years, they are not the framework for an MP only FTP game. Are there things 343i could be doing better? Absolutely, but you have to take things wholesale when making comparisons, not piecemeal.

I agree, it’s a basic staple of almost every other games battle pass. I imagine they’ve left it out due to the fact there are no time limits on the pass so this means people would only need to buy one battle pass ever.

The battle pass isn’t the main money maker though so they absolutely should have ways for players to earn small amounts of credits even if it is super long to do so. Our little children need to make their money somehow ha.

can’t fix what ain’t broken, pal.
comparison is also moot because other battle passes disappear after one season - unlike other battle passes, you literally have infinite time to work through them.

If they made more items cross core compatible maybe players would have more incentive to buy newer battle passes. Based on what I’ve seen, it’s highly likely nothing in the next Battle Pass will work for MK V [B] and nothing in this pass will work for the armor core they focus on in the next pass.

It was their decision to have the battle pass not expire. I would be HAPPY if they gave us normal XP gains with a pass that expires. Also the store has some really bland cosmetics for $20! I understand you play a game because its fun, but you can add a ton of fun by having a reward to work towards and being able to customize your character. I don’t understand people THAT DEFEND A BROKEN SYSTEM, PEOPLE LIKE THAT MAKE THE GAME WORSE. To anyone reading these discussions, please please critique this progression system, make it better for everyone even if you personally don’t need to progress to have fun! thank you

Yeah, I don’t understand the defense either. Microsoft isn’t our friends. They’re trying to get every penny out of us, and the system they’ve implemented doesn’t benefit the players. Publisher are always going to try and make as money as they can off you, to your detriment. Understanding this, and being happy with it are two different things.

I would shill out money for a product I felt was worth it. 10 dollars for two knives isn’t. People aren’t going to shell out money unless they’re happy with the product. That’s how you vote with your wallet.

It’s a shame that the cosmetic unlock system that worked for 3 console generations previously is somehow not viable anymore. I guess 343 is a small indie company though, not like they’re backed by Microsoft or anything so they really need to milk the players for every last cent to keep the lights on. Not only are they releasing an unfinished game but they’re gonna sell you season passes and story content for the next 10 years. Free multiplayer isn’t an excuse for such a predatory system, neither are non-time limited battlepasses. They could have easily included multiplayer with the $60 base game instead of releasing it free but then of course they would miss out on the opportunity to add a predatory cash shop. The fact that this garbage is “acceptable practice” in the industry now isn’t a reason to shove it into every new game. It’s just brutal seeing a prestigious franchise like Halo fall to such a level, expected the devs to care about the game more than this.

I know, and the thing is I love halo, if they had some cool cosmetics and they didn’t have a predatory system, I would LOVE to drop some money on cool cosmetics. But buying stuff right now the way it is, makes me feel dirty, like I’m being taken advantage of.

I’ll gladly do!
I like to spend my money on useless stuff I like.
Utterly mindblowing, I know.
Like, why would any sane person spend a few dimes on their most-liked interests?
So shocking!

Yeah it does seem that way. I kinda feel like there’s a decent enough reason for that being the case but it’s still kinda lame when you want to combine different things.

The kits too, not being able to wear your eSports skin on your Spartan without being default.
