> You do realize that people have legitimate copies of the game already, right?
You do know that the game hasn’t officially launched, right? They only have multiplayer for online for the staff and for the people who got it early. Everything else will launch on release so everyone starts out fair.
> You are very naive. Though there are many complains, there are also constructive criticisms. People aren’t here to hate on 343, people are complaining so much because they want the game to be better and have more long term enjoyment (at least with this ranking system ordeal) and many “complaint” threads bring up a LOT of good points on reason why something should be implemented. Don’t look at them all as hate threads, look at them as constructive criticism made to try and help the game
If 343 made decisions based off even 10% of those threads, they would go bankrupt.
> > > …No. They need to show respect and need to stop spamming hate to 343. Its always the same thing! Its always complaining about ranking and skill! We don’t care! Buy the game and give people a chance to see if it will work or not! They act like they have a time machine or something!

I am not only referring to the ranking system. Please tell me how lack of customization for Flood mode (or almost a lot of gametypes) improves the game what-so-ever? It doesn’t. People have legitimate criticisms about the game that should be acknowledged to make a better experience for everyone. Please tell me how removing more custom options makes the game better?
> If 343 made decisions based off even 10% of those threads, they would go bankrupt.
This is certainly NOT true. Though many are ridiculous, the community does have a lot of good, if not great feedback. Such as reasons for having more custom game options, reasons to allow flood mode to have flood carry weapons in the options menu or drive vehicles, a completely classic playlist integrated into the matchmaking system without sprint or other things that is not “classic”. Having a custom game matchmaking system where someone can set up a game and allow people to join custom games through matchmaking. I could keep going, but I think you get my point that a lot of threads do have great ideas that do nothing but improve the game itself. Whether you like the ideas or not, there is not much arguing that those features improve the game.

How does taking away customizable colors take away from the game?
I am mildly dissatisfied with the lack custom options, though I haven’t seen thirty-thousand threads complaining about it . I’ve seen one large collective thread where everyone can discuss it.
Maybe the fact that there are so many threads about a ranking system tells you something. A lot of people want it. Also a lot of people could care less about it. So why not just include it? It’s not hurting anyone (except maybe the 10 people who are against it).
It’s the loudest voice for a reason.
/minirant
Back on topic, I don’t think a lot of people are saying they’re whining about it. Most threads I read seems to have mostly everyone agree.

Because the Flood character model is considered a color and since you can’t change it to a different color (i.e. spartan) you can’t have zombies carry other guns (for games like fat kid).

Trying to find “great feedback” is like a needle in the ocean. By “those threads” I mean the ones we have seen repeated more then 200 times. “Listen to the competitive! Screw the whiny casuals!” is what is see most of the time. The MLG community needs to realize they are the minority in this and that their position doesn’t hardly any rights in this situation.

I have seen a few. Not to the amount of the ranking system, but I have seen a few. Same concerning removing gametypes, removing Falcon/Hornet, etc but those can be a whole topic in itself (which I have made a few of) so I won’t waste your time.
Point is, there are a lot of good things people say that should be added to the game (or I should say that should not have been removed in the first place).

I fully agree with this. In fact, were it not for such threads, I wouldn’t have even the foggiest understanding of Halo game mechanics.
Constructive criticism is good for more than just the devs. It can help other fans learn more about the game, which can increase their involvement and investment in it.
> Maybe the fact that there are so many threads about a ranking system tells you something. A lot of people want it.
An added benefit is that when there are a handful of threads on a particular subject, it can attract people that otherwise wouldn’t feel the need to discuss it. This can lead to new opinions and insights being offered, and it can also help those new to the conversation to learn about the matter being discussed.
That said, when half of the first page is nothing but duplicates of the exact same topic posed in the exact same manner – that’s kind of a problem.

Goes with my distaste for lack of customization. The Fatkid and the newly infected can be same color, different stats. Problem solved.

Keep in mind many people misrepresent the competitive community. I consider myself competitive to an extent, but I feel people are carrying it out is ridiculous.
But I see more people not asking to cater to them, but begging 343 to add something for them. And that really is what it is, people begging for something they feel as competitive system, and rightfully so. 343 should not cater to the upcoming CoD community only which is how I mostly see it. They are ignoring features for other communities to make their War games mode perfect for the guy who has never played Halo.
I could rant more on this, but I don’t want to start any huge debates.

Yes, some people do have good ideas and 343 should listen. But they are so buried by hate threads, that they are almost non-existent. I would love to see more constructive criticism, it does help improve. Pointless hate doesn’t, and thats what I usually find.

This could be easily fixed via locking threads and redirecting the OP to a thread with the same topic he posted.
> Yes, some people do have good ideas and 343 should listen. But they are so buried by hate threads, that they are almost non-existent. I would love to see more constructive criticism, it does help improve. Pointless hate doesn’t, and thats what I usually find.
I frequently make constructive criticism threads or even just idea threads a lot of the time, and I admit it is disappointing to have my threads flooded in others all of the same nature, but just keep in mind its a phase all games go through. happened with Reach, Happened with Halo 3, and I bet it happened with Halo 2 (wasn’t in the forums back then). Give it a little while and they will die down or learn to embrace the change and deal with it. Sad thing is though by that time all the ideas will be too late and we will have to wait weeks for the next TU. I guess that is just how the cookie crumbles.

I will respect your opinion on that and leave it there. I don’t want to start a debate on this and get a thread locked for just bickering.
And I also agree with you on the misrepresentation, but they always use the most misleading word. “We”

You know, when you post things like this that aren’t helpful and don’t contribute anything, you contribute just as much as the guy who posted the same thread for the thousandth time? Think about it. Complaining about complainers makes you a complainer as well.

Halo 2 did go through this as well, as from what I hear, everyone other sequel did as well. Thats why I’m bias and classify most threads as pointless hate and I’m sadly right 60% of the time. I rejoice when I find a thread that isn’t a copy of another or pointless rage.
