Possibly a marketing strategy to make people purchase gold and try it online, $£€ for MS!
I’m surprised to see a Halo player who is silver to be honest… no offence! 
use a two day trial and download them that way??? at least you will get the missions.
but i do recommend getting a full gold membership if you do want to experience halo 4 in the best way possible

Are there really still silver members? You don’t pay like the rest of us, thats why you don’t get it. You get what you do pay for. An offline experience where you get to look at what people who pay for gold use.

Yeah but its a terrible strategy. I never really got gold because its not really worth buying for me. So i think its terrible that theyd do this. Also, im more of a campaign and co-op guy than a MP guy (love 4 player spilt screen though)
I could try a 48 hr trial but some things still dont work (because you’re still not considered a gold member) and im scared thats going to be the case here too 
Also i expect to get everything (even if a bit later) if ive actually paid for the game

wow, arent you cool. I dont want to play online. Im a campaign and co-op guy. I dont want to play online, i just want the missions THAT ARE INCLUDED WITH THE GAME! If gold members get them like a month before i wouldnt care, but you cant exclude people because they arent paying another $60 to play online.

Buy gold, problem solved. It’s not expensive, and if you can afford 360, Internet, tv, Halo 4 , I’m sure you can drop like 30 $/€/£/whatever to buy gold…
And u don’t get the full Halo 4 experience if u only play campaign and SO.

But thats what i want. I dont care about not getting to play online. I just want my Spartan ops missions to play splitscreen or solo, and campaign and forge

It may seem terrible to you, but it may just be enough to make you buy gold.
If it makes you buy gold no doubt others will, meaning more cash for MS…Seems like a good business strategy to me

Technically, Spartan Ops missions are DLC, yeah? So can a Silver Member download the DLC map packs for (example) Gears 3? I don’t think so. So why should halo be any different?

its smart but cruel. lets put it that way. If there is no way to get the missions then i may end up actually getting a three month subscription next summer when im done university. But id prefer to get the missions before then
Maybe they’ll release all the Spartan Ops on a cd when the season comes to an end for silvers and non Live members. Of course you’ll probably have to pay for it, but think of it as paying for the Live Subscription fee rather than it being the free content.
I know that sucks. But c’mon like you can’t see them doing that. EA would.

some things you cant do with those though (they still dont consider you full gold)
A good example was in halo 3. you couldnt play ranked with a 48 hr trial.

YOU DO GET THE MISSIONS INCLUDED WITH THE GAME, campaign! It wasn’t meant to be harsh or cool. You buy the game you get campaign. You say you don’t want to play online, great! So that counts out Spartan Ops because its a live feature that is based on an online experience.
At least you can talk to Cortana…before she descends into rampancy.
