Lesser-Spoken Aspects of Halo 5.

.

Yes.

  1. No Powerups shown so far. This has been worrying me for awhile. At launch, there were no Halo 4 maps with powerups. It was only after the community complained that we got forge maps and forged versions of the default maps with powerups on them. Halo 5 better not be a repeat.

  2. The little things. Grenading items, different melee distances for different weapons, the health system, grenade jumping, weapon timers. I could go on and on, but no one except competitive players really care.

  3. Which brings me to my next point. Some weapons are on four minute timers. That’s insane. Weapons should never exceed a three minute timer, even then I would prefer we went back to how Halo Ce did things.

  4. The Lightrifle. So far we’ve seen someone pick one up, but we haven’t seen it used. What is going to separate it from the BR and DMR? We don’t need three precision weapons with no distinct differences.

  5. Strafe speed seems to be significantly faster. This is good.

  6. Crossfire is a forge map. I can understand some people might like that aesthetic, but please don’t let that be the only forge map after people have been begging for better looking pieces.

  7. The H2A terminals focused a lot on the Arbiter and Prophets. Could be relevant to Halo 5.

.

I just remembered something else (and I’ll probably remember more down the line).

The colors of Halo 5 need some work. Blue Team looks way more violet than actually being blue.

.

i’m worried about the holy trinity. Guns, Grenades, Melee.
with the high movement speed it looks like (but i haven’t played yet) 343 has increased killed times with guns. which makes sense, but i think this will make nades and melee redundant. another factor is the high speed: with the thruster pack everyone can dodge grenades assuming the are easy to see (even without grenade indicators). And from what I’ve seen the punch is absolutely useless, no lunge.
a lot of this is speculative though.
I don’t like clamber, removes skill jumps completely.

EDIT sorry just realised this is for “leser-know” problems but it is hard to get my voice out on large posts

  1. The beta is 11 days away, so we’ll have to wait and see.

  2. Those’ll probably remain the same as before, but I’m curious, as what is’t you have against the health system?

  3. I totally agree about the weapon timers, as most matches don’t last for more than 10 minutes. This means some matches may only last for the weapon to spawn 2-3 times in total.

  4. Same as #1. I like how it looks, though.

  5. Wish it was even faster, as it significantly increases the skill gap.

  6. Same as #1.

  7. They were also featured in Escalation. 5’s story is getting interesting every day.
