I jst go finished with seeing a discussion about descope having no place in the sandbox of HI (https://forums.halowaypoint.com/t/descope-has-no-place-in-this-sandbox/505154/23) and I respectfully disagree and think lense glare is worse and shouldn’t be in the game or something so I thought what would the comuntiy like more?

Id be fine with keeping descope as long as i don’t have a bright light at the end of my sniper

Same the bright light is a very dumb thing that should be removed.

I mean I understand why it’s there but I don’t want to have a giant beacon broadcasting my location any time I look down the scope of a weapon. If we have to have lense glare, make it less obvious at least.

The scope should help the players, not punish them. I could understand if we were talking about a map the size of a battlefield map with a x40 scope, but for how small the arena are there is no point in having them and the games were doing just fine without them

Descope was a part of previous Halo’s but was taken out in Halo 4. I’m perfectly fine with it. Lens flare is also fine. Especially since it’s the one of the first dead giveaways on if someone is cheating with a modded controller or PC hacks.

I’m not really clear on what your question is, am I voting for which I like or which I would like removed?

Descope, I think should be in place.

Lens - just learned “lense” is not a word - flare, I think we could do without, either entirely, or at the very least have it only happen when a sniper is scoped-in on someone and they are looking back at them. Currently its too much because if you scope-in with any weapon that has an optic, everyone immediately sees the lens flare and it always gives their position away - even to people not being aimed at.

Get rid of lens glare, it has no place in Halo. Descope is part of Halo. I say go play another game, wait go play Halo 4 tbh, if you don’t like it. It’s part of the skill gap and what separates the men from boys. Being able to properly pepper spartans from medium to long-distance while maintaining the reticle over the opponent while clicking your right thumb stick to try to get that zoom advantage ASAP while in an intense firefight is fun and satisfying. Every Halo vet should do this and if you can’t, you need to learn.

Both of them don’t belong in Halo.
End of discussion.

Lens flare ought to be removed from everything but maybe the skewer, shockrifle, and the hydra’s tracking mode so that anyone in a vehicle can have an easier time spotting them and being able to react accordingly. For the sniper, I think a noticeable vapor trail would work out fine IMO. Descope is perfectly fine.

Wouldn’t have to worry about getting descoped as much if the lens flare didn’t shine a beacon over the entire map.

I’ll take or leave de-scope. I don’t think it’s necessary, but I don’t mind it depending on how it’s implemented.
In infinite I can find it annoying due to other long range automatic weapons with very fast fire rates. But I don’t have any issues with descope in the older games because it worked in those sandboxes.

I don’t like lens flare though

De-scope has been in halo since the beginning with the exception of the god awful H4…and flinch preformed so poorly and was so hated that in 4 months time 343 removed flinch and brought back descope…

Descope is a staple mechanic and needs to stay imo

i just don’t want the glint on my stalker  it already has a trail when you shoot it, what’s the point, also, looks exactly like the skewers
