Does it need to be so intense? I’ve just played a game of BTB on Recurve, and it is glaringly obvious (no pun intended) and gets in the way. I actually lost gunfights just because I just couldn’t see my opponents. It doesn’t even look graphically pleasing, and gets in the way of the visuals because, you know, it covers them all.
EDIT: Just in case, I’ll say that the lens flare in question isn’t from the Sniper Rifle but from the maps themselves.
It really makes some maps have one teams spawn have an advantage if they have the glare source to their backs it could surely be toned down a bit where the effect is still there to look pretty or whatever but that doesn’t affect the gameplay

I see lens flare in the same manner as a fly inside my house; very annoying. Even worse, trying to eliminate it in a timely manner is an absolute nightmare.

I really dislike it when the map has a sniper rifle. I find myself dodging nothing several times a match, thinking it’s the glare from the snipe.
Yeah, you’d think the lens flare would be filtered considering that the helmets are supposedly designed with light-filtering built in as to not blind the Spartans.
It’s really quite annoying. Much as I like Dispelled and Risen, the lighting is kind of annoying, especially since both maps have Sniper Rifles… meaning I get confused on occasion and end up in cover when there isn’t a Sniper being used.
Yes, it’s very annoying and it would be nice if 343 and forgers took it into consideration when making maps.
I think one of the worst offenders of this was the H4 map Wreckage. There were some parts where you literally couldn’t see anything on the map except a glaring yellow color from the sun.
I would have to agree with the sentiments. Lens flare can be aesthetically pleasing at times, but it does tend to get in the way of playing the game. What a shame.

Vapour trail works a bit better than that of the lens flare. I don’t mind it though, I play HCS and TA so it’s pretty easy to get around

I quite like the fact that ‘lens glare’ gives you a moment to evade/get behind cover, as opposed to being “picked off” the entirety of the match without warning… but as for shooting back (yet alone, aiming) you’re pretty much screwed!
You should never excuse a good pun! I Lol’d ha!
Ended up in a game of BTB with you the other night… eeh, proper starstruck I was! ; )
