Legitimate question: does 343i hate their fans?

This post has been edited by a moderator. Do not make non-constructive posts.

tired of hearing how people are hurting 343’s feelings with hate.

why was forge maps a hassle for us to share?
why is it a hassle to have matchmaking coop, after you abandoned split-screen possibilities?
why do we get 3rd class rated maps? why is the best maps created by the community imo.
why do you force us to accept REQ?
why do you tease us with war zone turbo then take it away?
why do you make us earn emblems through req pack when we usually make them ourselves?
why banhammer players with internet disconnections, leaving them with an option to only play offline? some say how boring campaign mode is.
why do we have to painfully sit through a farming session?

They hate everyone but the Pro players because the pro players generate them revenue. So yes, they hate us

It’s a yes and no anwser just like any other dev. You can’t expect them to do everything we want. I say yes be use there’s many things they’ve done due to feedback from h5 being very different than h5, then there’s them adding in so many classic weapons, adding in a version of firefight even tho they were never originally going to do it, them adding ranks (I know! They’re not 1-50 but the current system is still better than reach and 4s system), ect ect. I say no because there are many things that are speculated to be issues to parts of the community. There are elites not being in play, sprint, armour/Spartan abilities, map quality being forge made rather than dev made, ect ect. Point is they do listen, but not to everything we want, and to take it further, they sometimes make the wrong decision on what to listen to.

Strongly disagree, h4 would love to have a word with you, even mcc(yes, I know it’s broke but the idea still counts) would as well.

Uh oh, you exposed their secret. They hate their fans which is the reason they choose to work at a company making halo games and nothing but halo games and interact with said fans on a regular basis…

Yes, I’m sure Frank O’Connor saying the people who didn’t like how Cortana acted in Halo 5 are just young fans who don’t get subtlety and nuance among the long list of lies and misrepresentations about Halo 5 uttered by various people at 343 is the quality interaction the fanbase is looking for.

Just saying man. People need to seriously take the emotion out of this. I understand halo is important to a lot of fans but to the developers it is their livelihood. This is first and foremost a business. They don’t purposely try to think of things that people hate while twirling their mustaches and laughing maniacally. They understand like anything, a franchise can become stale and they are constantly walking the line of losing what made them great and not taking enough risk to keep it fresh.

That being said, not much reason to work at a company with a sole focus of halo if you aren’t a supporter of all types of fans. Businesses are much more complicated than people want to give them credit for.

When have we ever been able to make our own emblems? If this is a secret technique that I have never heard of, please do tell

343i ONI Classified Memories of Reach REQ Card.

Reveal. It’s a Phaeton.

343i trolls it’s community and doesn’t care.

We hate 343i indiscriminately for no reason and then they give us more reason to hate them.

We are currently in a hate hate relationship with the current Halo Developers because Frank O’Connor is the franchise director approving godawfully written rushed AF stories for the new halo games. Karen Traviss could write better than the lead writer they have now.

It’s like… OH GREG BEAR INTRODUCED THE DOMAIN WHICH WAS DEAD OR HEALING ITSELF A HUNDRED THOUSAND YEARS AGO… LET’S EXPAND ON THAT AND INCORPORATE IT INTO PRESENT DAY LORE BECAUSE FRIGGING YOLO!!! LET’S MAKE CORTANA AND WARDEN ETERNAL AN ANTAGONIST BECAUSE UR-DIDACT WASN’T BADASS ENOUGH.

Guess who Main Antagonist of Halo 6 will be? The SAN’SHYUUUUUUUUUUM!!!

DISCLAIMER: SPECULATION!

Sorry. Sudden personal revelations tend to lead to a loss of control over my repressed anxiety, anger and other emotions.

Yes, they are clearly out to get us. They make these games and secretly do it badly, solely to make us suffer. Everyday they look at these forums, reveling in the complaints and the misery.

Excuse me as I roll my head back and laugh.
Rolls head back and laughs

With how much this fm base trash talks them I wouldn’t be surprised

Dang it! I almost had three days on my calendar of you not bringing that up! lol.

I would have just taken it with a grain of salt, probably as his way of excusing Reed’s lousy writing at the expense of children (as one does!), not with all the salt!

(you know I’m kidding, right?)

You can be in a business without being a -Yoink!- to the people who don’t like certain things your business does, no mustache twirling or cartoony villainy required. Ironically, 343 was able to look at where things like their story went wrong while also defending what they felt they did right. With Halo 5? Apparently being a jerk is the in thing to do.

Well you make a great game you make money, you make a bad game if it has fan base you still make money cause fans won’t give up on it, if the game is the first of it’s series and it’s bad it will die and not make money. Morale of the story, companies are run by profit, if you don’t like what they do don’t give them money, if you like what they do give them money, if you were never going to give them money in the first place, they are going to ignore you. Also, never preorder a game, it makes the developers become lazy.

Preordering was necessary in 2004, now it is just stupid. We see this in how they advertise free small things for pre-ordering, we know its BS.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Try to be constructive, offering solutions instead of asking questions to fan the flames. Out.

He was just trying to cover his yoink because he knew they messed up campaign…big time. In the process insulting their customers (oops)

To say they “hate us” though is a bit of a stretch. As someone already stated, just because they don’t give you everything you want doesn’t equate to hate. If they hated us they wouldn’t make the game. Let alone drop monthly content updates.
