Legendary Slayer should be AR and Pistol.

Legendary Slayer. One of Halo 4’s underdog game modes. A classic feeling mode, but one that has one HUGE mistake. 343’s idea that BR=OMGSO GOOD. The original AR+Pistol Legedary Slayer worked fine, was balanced, and was voted for and played plenty of times.

Im not against the Battle Rifle. But my -insert bad word here- goodness can 343 and this community please stop sucking on the BR wang.

Slayer Pro-BR
Swat-Mostly BR
BTB-Mostly BR
Team Slayer-Mostly BR
Proving Ground-Mostly BR
Any Pro/MLG/Ranked/Etc mode-Mostly BR

Why can’t we have ONE solid classic mode that doesnt have a BR/DMR/Carbine/LR in it, or very limited. Legendary Slayer was fine with just the AR and Pistol.

Legendary Slayer should be
Assault Rifle
Pistol
1 Frag

Weapons on map_
Storm Rifle
Plasma Pistol
Rockets
Sniper
Shotgun
Needler
Grendades
Supprosor
Bolt Shot
Carbine
Railgun
ETC

In some cases, and rare (1-2 per map only)
Battle RIfle
DMR
Light Rifle
Light Rifle

We don’t need the Battle Rifle to make a game balanced. It depends on what maps, spawn points and what weapons you have. The Rockets aren’t bad if it’s limited in spawn time and ammo. Rockets and Snipers should be limited to 1-2 “magazines”. Which allows it to be a powerful weapon, but without creating horribly unbalanced fights.

Other reasons why AR should be in it

1-Makes other weapons more useable and likeable. BR games are heavily BR+Power Weapons. Assault Rifle games are always more varied in weapons and play styles

2-It’s classic. As much as the BR has been around for awhile. The Assault Rifle has been around longer. BR gets enough love. Can’t the good ol Chief Classic Assault Rifle get some love without the BR sack tapping it?

3-It was already balanced. When it came out I never saw games of total dominance due to bad balance. Games were fast paced, fun, varied, and felt very classy. No offense to the BR, but the AR games just felt more HALO.

4-Said it too many times but. THE BR GETS TOO MUCH LOVE. Again it makes up a vast majority of weapon kills, modes and just ruins Halo’s vast variety of weapons

In Halo CE the pistol may have been “OP”. However anyone who really played Halo CE knows how varied games really were. Every weapon had a good roll. Even something as weak or off as the Plasma Pistol or Rifle could be a tool of doom in the right hands. Sadly Halo has become a “One weapon” game. I do give credid to 343 for making the AR/SR/Supprosor and Carbine a little better, and it has more varied than before.

But really. Give Legendary Slayer back to the rightful Legendary weapon. The good old, classic, Halo rifle. The Assault Rifle. 60 bullets, 32 bullets, weak, strong, Reach or Halo CE looking. Give us our classic mode back!

> Legedary Slayer worked fine, was balanced, and was voted for and played plenty of times.

That’s not true. They changed it because it didn’t work fine.
It gets played more often, since there’s BR instead of AR.

they changed it for a reason. NOW it works fine.

Veto for BRs

The huge problem I had with the original Legendary Slayer is that the first team to get the BRs and control the map pretty much won the game. It was near impossible for the other team to take back map control against players with BRs in Halo 4’s stretched-out-for-sprint maps.

> The original AR+Pistol Legedary Slayer worked fine

Matchmaking Legendary Slayer was AR starts only. You didn’t start with a magnum.

That could be fun for a few rounds. I’d play it.

It would be incredibly difficult to take out players with power weapons though. That’s one of the reasons the BR is so popular–its range allows players to take out power weapon users by staying out of their range and team-shooting. Can’t do that as feasibly with an AR.

> Assault Rifle games are always more varied in weapons and play styles

BRs are useful in more ranges and in more situations, which unarguably gives them a wider variety of playstyles.

I don’t think we played the same game.

Not compared to a pistol. No skilled player not using a pistol ever won a 1v1 against another skilled player using a pistol.

Veto for BRs!!!

Anyway, the BR is a much better starting primary weapon because of its increased range versatility. The AR, however, is unfortunately much more limited in range and as such is much better suited as a secondary to the BR, as Legendary BRs currently has it set up.

In AR start games, the first team to grab the BR and Carbine were almost garranteed to win the match, snowballing the game by shooting the AR wielding enemies from a distance and making it frustrating for the losing team, and generally boring for the winning team. BRs at spawn make it much more equal for the winning vs losing team than ARs only at spawn do.

And even if the spawn loadout includes a Magnum, it still does not give the same viability as a BR due to its bloom and small clip. The Magnum is currently a close range based precision weapon.
