A mistake I’ve seen people make is calling Legendary Slayer a “Classic” playlist, this isn’t the case. In this bulletin it states it is basic gameplay
> At PAX East, we announced that we were working on a new playlist named Legendary Slayer. After much iteration, discussion and playtesting, we’re excited to announce that it is (almost!) here and (almost!) ready for your enjoyment. Legendary Slayer is a variant that focuses on basic gameplay with only one loadout, on-map weapons and motion tracker enabled. Here are the key settings:
So stop asking for the removal of sprint (your best option would be to ask for that in throwdown) and BR starts (in throwdown and in Slayer Pro)

Legendary Slayer is the closest thing to Classic, ever and likely will be in Halo 4 and it is a clear attempt at mimicking classic gameplay, mainly Halo 3.
The playlist can start off as a playlist that focuses on basic gameplay, but it doesn’t mean it can’t/won’t change. Hence why people are asking for the removal of Sprint (of which Ghostayame shows no interest in doing).

Exactly! I like a few maps like Haven so I just don’t want to be stuck on Forge maps like we were in Reach, I’m not even getting the new DLC as I don’t like the Pit and I don’t really want Vertigo it would be a shame
Who cares whether it’s classic or basic? It’s a step closer to “classic” gameplay, but for many people like me, it’s still not quite as “basic” or “classic” as we were looking for. Some people love it, but many of the people who were looking forward to it were disappointed.
It doesn’t matter whether it’s called “classic” or “basic” because, as the population shows, it doesn’t cater to very many people in its current state.
Well thanks for a basic playlist 343…something no one asked for. How about a playlist with pre set loadouts with static PODs(power ups only). Maybe pre set loadouts with power weapons and power ups on maps. Or Custom Loadouts with no PODs. They could have literally had these 3 variants in ONE playlist as voting options.
And before people jump on this, I’m not complaining. However I think it would have been better to use H4’s features in balanced, less random ways rather than a stripped down “basic” playlist. At best AR/no secondary should be a variant not an entire playlist. IMO
It’s obviously not classic, and 343i never said it would be. Now where are those classic playlists that fans have been begging for since and that 343i promised us before Halo 4 was even released, huh? I don’t see them anywhere. We can’t even recreate classic gameplay in custom games!
