why do threads like this bombard the forums? i get it, its popular, what is the actual purpose of this thread? could this not have just been a comment in an existing one about what’s apparently the best thing since sliced bread?

I rather have some nicer positive threads than some feel-bad negative threads.
Needs BR Start choice as a voting option to be truly Legendary.

Its popular? There is only constantly 600-700 people playing it. It is not popular and needs more attention. Right on OP

Lol no it’s not. there were like 600 people playing when I got off. It has potential but it’s almost like 343 wants in to fail. No pistol secondary for -Yoink- AR starts, no option for BR starts, random inconsistent weapon placement. Rockets on Haven have 6 rockets in it. LOL! Lasers on Adrift? HAHAHA!
On top of that 343 teases LS like it’s the next coming of jesus christ and it takes 4 months to be added. I could make those settings in a custom lobby in 2 minutes.

Of course they wanted it to fail, lets be realistic here.
Infinity slayer is what 343i thinks halo is and should be that is their baby and that will be their legacy on halo
Giving the community EXACTLY what it wanted (no sprint, increased movment precision starts etc etc etc) and having the playlist boom in population would have highlighted and been the exclamation point on traditional halo is what people want and that Infinty setting (their baby) is why H4 rather failed on the MM side of things
343i has only ever met us half way on things and taken their sweet -Yoink- time in doing so
you want the red X back? here’s a white x that lasts a fraction of a second
you want weapon tuning? here’s the tuning but we are also going to speed up weapon spawn timers so everyone and their uncle has a power weapon
you want a classic halo game mode? here it is 8 months too late 4 months after we announced it with sprint AR starts and only 5 repetitive maps in the playlist
Now, this is not to say that infinity settings do not have their place in halo, its just that they should not have been the only offering at launch
343i simply does not want classic halo around, they have done everything they possibly can to put their unique finger print on the series in nothing more than a vain attempt to step out of Bungies shadows and as a result gained nothing more that a AAA title that does not peak 30,000 player per day 8 months after release

The truth is that -Yoink!- (and 343i) by proxy are simply trying to suck as much cash from this cow until its completely drained, don’t get me wrong I’m all for additional content but releasing the champions bundle less than 2 months before the release of the xbox one seems a bit farcical for my tastes
these are all moot points considering after November and the release of Xbox one I would be surprised to see H4’s population peak over 10k
So this is what we have come down to? Halo games with yearly life spans?

yeah they tried making in “accessible” and ran every true Halo fan off. My friend’s list is a ghost town of past Halo players that just quit playing.
They sold Halo 4 on the Halo name alone. I remember the first few weeks the population was at like 300k. Even after BO2 came out it was still 200k. It kept taking for numerous reasons that you mentioned.
Halo 5 will be a totally different ballgame though. True Halo fans are wise now to 343’s direction with the franchise. Ship another Halo like they did and people over there will be looking for new gaming franchises to -Yoink- up.
