Legendary Slayer brought me back to Halo 4

Thank you 343 for bringing this amazing playlist. The only suggestion I can make at this point is to not change it, seriously. I don’t expect everyone to fall in love with this playlist, or necessarily for it to bring back all the players that have left, but you definitely brought me back. I played a couple of games before going into work, and had to text my brother with the words “Halo is back!”

  • AR start with weapons on map
  • No ordnance markers
  • No personal ordnance
  • Play by kills not points
  • Friendly fire turned on

These are just a few of the things in legendary slayer that I’m grateful for. It promotes close quarters combat which is the Halo experience I enjoy playing. I can run top mid of Shutout and not worry about everyone shooting at me from all the way across the map.

I won’t say that this should be the go-to gameplay for all future Halo games, because I’ll admit that the greater majority of players online now are still playing Infinity, but as long as they have this as a playlist it will be hard for me to complain.

Well done!

That’s what we like to call “punishing poor positioning.” I’m glad that recent Halo games have given players the idea that it’s okay to go where they please without dying.

I guess that’s your opinion, but my opinion is that if you make a spot on the map impossible to move across because of campers who spawn with DMR’s then the gameplay should be changed.

People on these forums are never optimistic about anything. As soon as someone says anything positive about the game someone is always there to shut it down.

I disagree, one of the best things about the original trilogy was that big maps allowed players to have a large range of free movement without worrying about instantly dying. This way, maps flowed very well, and were very fun to play.

In Halo Reach and Halo 4, the game has promoted sitting in a corner with Active Camo and a DMR. I don’t know about you, but that doesn’t say “fun” to me in the least bit.

Let’s just forget his comment. What do you all think about Legendary Slayer? Like it? Love it? Hate it? Any possible suggestions to make it even better.

For me I’m completely happy with the way it is right now. The worst thing they could do is try to make it somewhat better and doing the exact opposite. I like that there is no magnum as a secondary just because of how accurate it is. I also would be open for the idea of making a votable option for BR starts, but I’m happy that the AR starts is the default right now and you have to fight for those precision weapons.

Well, I am really happy that they have made it, honestly. And I’m happy for you guys, too. It’s not for me- not at all. I hate using automatic weapons. Spray and pray? I’ll pass on all of that, thankyoverymuch. Also, I really hate spawning with useless weapons when people can chew me up with ranged guns. I’d rather start off with something worth using.

That said, I am glad they made it, because a lot of people wanted it. They will, thus, be happier with the game. It’s an OPTION to play that way, in those playlists. More people are happy, so I am happy, even though I’ll never play it.

I don’t see why people need to be mad about an option existing. I’m happy for you guys. *shrug

Thanks. And like I mentioned in the OP, I’m fine if they have loadouts and ordnance for the new Halo games, because apparently that’s where most gamers are headed. As long as they keep a playlist like this for me, I’ll continue to play the game.

You have never been able to run across top mid on Lockout ever. Even with the BR that area was a deathtrap.

I just always have to put my input into everything. I give credit where credit is due. It just so happens rewarding people with bad positioning and situational awareness is not something to praise 343 about. It’s just dumbing down Halo for those that want to succeed.

A classic Halo playlist should be included in every release, from the start. Will it be the most popular playlist? Nope, but it will hold a decent enough population to warrant it’s inclusion.

The more 343 can offer old fans and new fans the better.

Someone that’s reasonable and willing to have both?
