Legendary Slayer Announced!

They have finally announced the settings and launch date for Legendary Slayer! For those who haven’t seen it yet, these are the settings. It launches this Monday, July 15.

> 4 vs. 4 Slayer
> Default starting weapon (Assault Rifle)
> No armor abilities
> Motion Tracker enabled
> All weapons and grenades located on map (no initial, random or personal ordnance)
>
> The singular loadout is:
> Starting weapon: Assault Rifle
> Secondary weapon: None
> Armor ability: None
> Grenades: Frag x2
> Support upgrade: Explosives
> Tactical package: Resupply

The maps, which are being made specifically for this playlist, will be:
Haven
Solace
Adrift
Abandon
Landfall
Monolith
Skyline
Shutout

Personally, I’m really excited for this playlist! It sounds like we’re finally getting the classic playlist people have wanted since the game launched. I’m not a big fan of no secondary weapon, though. I think we need at least a pistol to compete with the rifles. Other than that, I think it’s perfect! What’s everyone else’s opinion on it?

Awesome can’t wait to try it

Ar starts doesn’t really bother me although it wouldn’t hurt to add the pistol as secondary.

I think AR starts is the best we could hope for. BR or DMR starts wouldn’t work quite as well because they’re already so powerful. With the AR, you’ll want to go out and pick up a rifle.

A pistol would really help you keep up with people who have rifles when you spawn. And every other Halo game had AR/Magnum starts. It only makes sense to me.

theres no point if theres no descopeing

hopefully with enough feedback they can re-add the pistol

> theres no point if theres no descopeing

I guess there will never be a point then. They’ve already said descoping isn’t going to happen in this game.

Wait. Is it gonna be an independent playlist?

> Wait. Is it gonna be an independent playlist?

From my understanding yes

> Wait. Is it gonna be an independent playlist?

Should be because the post states, “The Legendary Slayer playlist launches Monday, July 15, on the following maps, which have been custom-created specifically for this playlist.”

I hope over time they might add a few more maps, or something like that. Although I am very glad they are adding this playlist and I am really looking forward to it!

> Wait. Is it gonna be an independent playlist?

Yup, it’s going to be its own playlist! It’s better that way. We don’t need two non-Infinity gametypes in Infinity Slayer.

About damn time, that’s 8 months too late. Now I might give Halo 4 another chance. I wish they would have classic-ish playlists for more than Slayer though.

I think we need pistol starts, 110% movement and no sprint.

Agreed!

Sprint is still enabled. So it’s more of a competitive playlist then classic. If pitfall makes it into legendary slayer i will probably spend most of my time there.

i would’ve liked a Magnum to go with the AR, but still, pretty cool

I am so excited for this playlist to launch, asked for something very similiar since the game launched. Maybe soon they will add Team Brs into it, the only changed being people start with BR’s instead of assault rifles. That being said I’m going to enjoy legendary slaryer thoroughly and not complain. The only two small requests that I have are… could you please add Ragnarok, with no mantis, to this playlist?? Also when Pitfall drops could it be added to this playlist as well?? Put those two maps into this playlist and I WILL BUY the entire champions bundle as my way of saying thank you for everything. Playing those two maps along with Adrift and Haven will make this far away my favorite playlist in halo 4.

Thank you 343i, it may have taken you a bit longer than I would have liked for this playlist to drop but I know you didn’t HAVE to make it. So thank you.

Better late than never I guess…

Where are all the other classic map remakes? I don’t want to be playing Solace.

I got a feeling this playlist will get boring very quick similar to how Infinity Slayer did at Launch as there is just not enough decent maps.
Been looking forward to this playlist for months now so I’m still going to play it.

I was hoping for a Legendary playlist rather than a Legendary Slayer to be a social (not ranked) 4v4 playlist with the following settings and gametypes.

Legendary Slayer
-Current Slayer Pro loadouts
-Radar enabled
-Sprint disabled
Slayer maps: Haven, Abandon, Skyline, Monolith, Landfall, V4 Shutout, Sanctuary (remake), Onyx

Legendary CTF
-Battle Rifle and Assault Rifle only starts with with 2 frag grenades, no AA’s, Explosives and Resupply
-Radar enabled
-Sprint disabled
-Classic flag mechanics (juggling enabled, flagnum gone)
CTF maps: Skyline, Sanctuary (remake), The Pit (remake) / Pitfall, V4 Onslaught

Legendary Odball
-Battle Rifle and Assault Rifle only starts with with 2 frag grenades, no AA’s, Explosives and Resupply
-Radar enabled
-Sprint disabled
-Classic mechanics (can drop the ball, can’t throw the ball)
Oddball maps: Shutout

Legendary KOTH
-Battle Rifle and Assault Rifle only starts with with 2 frag grenades, no AA’s, Explosives and Resupply
-Radar enabled
-Sprint disabled
KOTH maps: Haven, Monolith, Shutout

This is what i would have preferred. It has much more variety and decent maps to play on. I have a feeling only Haven are the only maps currently going to be picked which is fun… I just would have preferred the classic styled playlist to have classic maps and game types rather than just a classic starting loadout.

I am incredibly excited, but I can definitely see the population going in to the low hundreds within weeks. The majority of people who would have enjoyed this playlist left Halo 4 months ago. I hope I’m wrong of course, but I’m not that optimistic…

About to see what version of Slayer is more popular anyway. Infinity or Classic. I’m pretty excited about it as I started playing Halo back in classic and still play better in those settings then Infinity.
