Legendary Planet= Greater Ark? (Spoilers)

I was replaying an old Halo 3 cutscene, and after Primordium, I have just realized something under my nose that I missed.

THIS THREAD HAS SPOILERS, READ AT YOUR OWN RISK.

As of Primordium, 343GS is alive and has taken over a ONI ship, possibly the UNSC Infinity, and is heading towards the Librarian’s location, who may be alive.
He states that “I know where to find her”.

Ok, Primordium also revealed that Installation 00 isn’t the only Ark, the Greater Ark also exists, which is bigger than Installation 00.

http://www.halopedian.com/Greater_Ark

All relevant information on it may be found here.

Since the Librarian is greatly interested in life, and the fact that the Greater Ark is located outside the galaxy, it would be the safest and most logical place to house the remaining Forerunners and/or the Librarian.

Now, you are wondering, how is this relevant to Halo 4? How is this relevant to Halo 3?

Well, according to Primordium, the Greater Ark is lit by greater pillars of plasma, which look very similar to the pillars we see in the Halo 4 concept trailer, although those look dormant.

Still confused about the relevance to Halo 4?

The Legendary Planet may in fact be the Ark coiled up, with the hole representing the top. We know the Greater Ark has 6 arms, and the concept art for Halo 4 and Primordium both show a curving object, which cannot be a Halo ring. It is the Greater Ark, as mentioned in the book.

Now, to link this all together. 343GS, Master Chief and Cortana, Greater Ark, (clearly described as different in both Cryptum and Primordium compared to Installation 00), and the UNSC Infinity.

To end this topic, I would like to say that it is amazing how little pieces of information shown and stated in Halo games have been rubbed off as irrelevant, only to appear again and be of importance, like the Index Cortana took in Halo CE, it saved Arby n the Chief. (Pun Intended)

This is one example, and now, I present you another, something which seems to have a deep complication for Halo 4, 343GS may have known about it…

“I always thought it was part of a shield installation, but it seems I may be mistaken…”

Spark always thought it was part of a shield installation! (Since the monitor’s information is limited, he may not have known about the Greater Ark, even if he did, the Terminals reveal he let go links to his former station, explaining his lack of knowledge) Guess what that means… (Let me remind you that the Didact built the shield worlds, it would explain his presence in the Reclaimer Trilogy)

Can’t be. The Greater Ark looks a bit like the Lesser Ark, not a Shield World.

> Can’t be. The Greater Ark looks a bit like the Lesser Ark, not a Shield World.

Did you read my post and Primordium? The Lesser Ark is Installation 00, and it is apparently been destroyed.

The Greater Ark is different, it may have the capability to curve up into a ball.

That is a point. It is a possibility.

The inside would be the surface of the Ark, it may expand outwards to it’s traditional shape, and back in.

The outside would be the bottom of the Ark, with a small gap or entrance in the middle.

I don’t know. I’ve made some sketches based off of it’s description and I can’t see any way to design it so it becomes a Shield World.
The Greater Ark has plasma as light, not a star or artificial sun. It also has a disk shape in the middle and a giant tower.

ARGG! Did you not read my post? It explains these factors! Including the plasma tower pillar thingy.

Also, the Ark has 6 arms, and they would possibly be able to fit together.

It is a sci fi shooter.

Talk about maiming the lore.

First off that monitor is Chakas not 343.

Second An Ark Cannot be a Planet and The Greater Ark is the huge thing we destroyed.

And stop using halopedia as a source.

The Greater Ark looks almost like the Lesser Ark. When the arms come together they do not make a cirlce. The Forerunner planet is a sphere. Arks are not spheres. It is impossible for it to be the Ark. It has already been confirmed that it is a planet. It is not a Greater Ark.

> First off that monitor is Chakas not 343.

It technically is 343 GS. Chakas was use to create the 343 we fought in Halo 1 and destroyed in Halo 3. So, it is and it isn’t.

> Second An Ark Cannot be a Planet and The Greater Ark is the huge thing we destroyed.

Actually, we destroyed the Lesser Ark in Halo 3. The Greater Ark only has 6 arms, does not use an artifical sun but another system to simulate day/nigh cycles, and constructs the 30,000 km diameter Halos.

> And stop using halopedia as a source.

Why not? It’s pretty damn accurate. You once said you could link (i think) 5 pages that contained incorrect information? Could I ask you do so? If not in the topic, PM me. I am genuinely curious.

Either way, this guy is wrong if he thinks it is the Greater Ark that the chief is going into.

No. I won’t explain why as others already have.

Apes are not human; I know you understand this but other people don’t understand the situation.

I have checked that again, good point.

It is filled with flaws i honestly shouldn’t have to point them out. There are a lot of mis-sourced pages, which leads to the incredibility of the site. Not to mention their are countless pages that still aren’t correctly updated and have been so for years. The Admins of the site know all of this yet they still fruitlessly try to maintain it instead of handing it over to people that can do far better.

I know there are pages that need updating, but I’ve always seen it as a fairly reliable reference site for all things Halo.

Well seeing how you aren’t a moron you must be able to pick out the disinformation without noticing that you do so. I am not saying i don’t use the site to refresh my memory or to help me with something. But I know what is true and what isn’t though for new people to the universe i would advise them to stay away from it.

And i am PMing you

While your theory is solid and seems right, I think you can almost see a sun inside the hole in the LP in the Awakening trailer:

… or is it just me?

So you could say that this “greater ark” shares some similarities with the Citadel from Mass Effect. Except is a rounder shell. Like, in this picture for example: ignore the orange, focus on the shape.

Wow, this community is getting smarter, I hope in 7 years it doesn’t go rampant…

LOL, i don’t really see anything here… so, i gotta disagree with you, :stuck_out_tongue: but there MAY be a possibility that a BIG Greater Ark can go smaller and fold itself into a ball…

I just wanted to point out that I already had a thread up with this exact same topic. In fact, everything you said wasn’t far off from what I did. Here’s the link as proof:

http://halo.xbox.com/Forums/yaf_postst56099_Possible-identity-of-the-legendary-planet.aspx

I don’t see any solid evidence that it is indeed a Planet. Most people just assumed that it was a Planet and thus a shield world because it is a sphere. It’s more likely to be the Greater Ark, why bother even writing in that there was a second ark of such high importance if it wasn’t going to play a key role. It makes perfect sense that the last remaining Forerunners fled to the Greater Ark and that the Librarian got there by taking the portal located at Voi. I know the portal takes you to Installation 00 but in the very last ‘story’ of Halo evolution’s it is mentioned that the portal “is capable of other feats”. Could this other feat be that it also opens the way to the Greater Ark?
