legendary flames question

Will this work and can I get banned for this?

  1. Friend who has legendary flames recovers gamertag onto my xbox
  2. Friend redownloads his legendary flames onto my xbox.
  3. I use legendary flames happily on my xbox.
  4. He recovers his gamertag onto his original xbox, thus getting his account off mine.

I’ve done this with my Recon helmet (I have two boxes at different houses) and it works fine. Will this work with flames, and does one account have to be signed in to use them, just like with DLC games?

I HAVE NOT DONE THIS YET

Banned: Absolutely not.

Will it work: I’m not sure…I’d say if it worked with Recon then most likely but I can’t say for sure.

I personally wouldn’t.

but then again, i also don’t care much about my armor and the flames and stuff.

It worked with Recon because it was the same account that was using it. I redeemed the Recon on my first account and then re-downloaded it on my second Xbox on the same account. I know it works like this. But will it work if my friend downloads it onto my hard drive, then I use it (I know I can use it if we are both recovered onto the same hard drive), and then he recovers his gamertag back onto his own Xbox.

A friend of mine did that. It doesn’t work.

It works for Recon for some reason though, but when he tried it he didn’t have anything new in his armory.

I don’t believe it will even work, to be honest.

The only reason I say this is because a friend of mine tried the same thing with me for the XBLA game “Shadow Complex.” I downloaded the trial version of the game, he recovered his gamertag, and since he had already purchased the game, he was allowed to unlock the full version on my console for free. HOWEVER…once he recovered his gamertag back onto his console, I was reverted back to the trial version.

So it is my understanding that all DLC is directly tied to the profile that originally purchased/downloaded it. It may still be on your hard drive, but you won’t be able to access it unless he is signed in on your console at the same time.

Correct, the person who owns the DLC will need to be signed in for you to use it, otherwise it will just sit in your Hard Drive.

It’s to stop piracy.
