I read somewhere that 343 were asking for suggestions regarding the content of a special/legendary edition of Halo 5. Is this true?
In which case, I’d love to see:
A sturdy tin or case that doesn’t damage like the Halo 4 and HMCC boxes (one like the Halo Reach limited edition hard box would be perfect)- A soundtrack that comes in a proper CD case and sleeve- A behind the scenes DVD- DLC that isn’t retailer specific - A small manual or book of concept art I think items like this would really pay respect to Halo fans who, quite frankly, have been let down by previous special editions (including HMCC). I personally think the box itself is vital. It has to look good on a shelf and it shouldn’t be made of cheap cardboard that damages in the post or in stores. A soundtrack with a sleeve would especially be a fantastically considerate and worthwhile inclusion that all players would appreciate.
I like your list, but the items seem really generic. I’m not saying they’re bad, I would love them in a halo special edition, but I feel that a lot of other games put these items in their special editions. I think if 343 were to do something like halo reach’s collector’s edition (Halsey’s Journal) that would be a pretty big incentive for collectors to buy the game. 343 need to put something in there that is unique and awesome. But that’s just me anyway.
Nah, I know what you mean. I agree. To be honest I forgot to mention a journal like thing. I just feel that special editions have been really neglected recently. Bungie’s legendary edition for Reach was just a fantastic send off for them, but since then we’ve been given two cardboard boxes, both of which were damaged for me in the post because they weren’t sturdy enough and didn’t have enough inside to bulk them out. It was also a bit odd that you had to rip open the packets in Halo 4, leaving you with essentially trash in the game box. I’m not a massive fan of figures or statues, so that’s why I’d love a soundtrack with accompanying artwork.

You bought the Legendary Editions of Halo 4 and MCC? How much money do you have to spend on games? Just kidding, but I would never get special editions of any game.

This so much, my halo 4 limited edition is damaged because it is just a piece of cardboard, But I would like
.A sturdy box, like the reach legendary
.Elite language handbook with hidden messages on the box that you have to translate.
.cortana chip dogtags
.Bird thing statue or arbiter and chief back to back statue
.Lockes notebook
.Some color for a flaming helmet(preferably white or green)
Similar to what Assassin’s Creed have done with there special editions, 343 should include a limited edition statue along with personal diary’s, DLC’s, Blueprints or posters etc.

Everything in that list plus season pass for all DLC would be perfect. Also, a steelbook case made of actual metal.
