I don’t get it.A while ago there was a big fuss that the DMR had become the go to weapon. To resolve this issue the BR was made into the all powerful weapon, the new go to,you could say.In fairness a good 65% of players use this weapon every game. What I saw of the global championship heavily involved the BR.It’s yours to use as a loadout weapon every game. It’s not like the good old days when you spawned with an AR and had to scavenge a BR up,i could understand the playlist then.So why oh why do we need another slot misused on infinity slayer to accommodate the most over used weapon on the game??
I for one love legendary BR’s. You must have forgotten the timeless phrase that was shout out in every pregame lobby of Halo 3. “Veto for BRs!!”.

Aye, I remember those days… I remember telling the person in question to shut the -Yoink- up.
I agree with the OP; it was better when you had to scavenge BRs off the battlefield. AR/Magnum starts were much better for classic gametypes.
People like the BR, its a classic H2 (when the multiplayer started getting good IMO) weapon. Honestly, their should also be a carbine (as it fills the same role as the BR). The point is, that it is more akin to classic Halo, with BR starts.
I don’t find it much of a problem. It’s much better than the DMR for short to mid ranges but the DMR is still very useful. I love to use them both. I think a lot of people are using it just so that they can have there beloved BR back. The BR was my favourite rifle and when Halo 4 came out I was glad to be able to use it but I soon found out that put me at a slight disadvantage. I still used it of course but I learned to use the DMR as well.
I use the BR because it has the fastest kill time of the precision weapons. When the DMR had the fastest kill time, I used that. If the Carbine or Light Rifle had the fastest kill time, I’d use that. For me, it has nothing to do with the “classic” feel or familiarity.
I prefer BR starts because automatic weapons are completely ineffective against power weapons. I don’t necessarily want to be able to dominate without finding a better weapon, but I would at least like to be able to stand a fighting chance. I don’t enjoy running away from battle until I’ve scavenged three different places on the map for a precision weapon; I’d rather just spawn with a precision weapon and up my respawn time to 20 seconds–it would accomplish the same thing.
Legendary Classic - Carbine and BR option. No Ordinance.
I’m BR’d out. The carbine on the other hand is something I’ve never really liked until Halo 4.

The veto shout, I miss that.People just don’t talk anymore. But what’s better about legendary Br’s as opposed to using the BR in any other game type. Why do we need it when you can use the BR in every game anyway? Why must every player be forced to use it?

I like your honesty, kill time. Most peoples reason, truth be known.
So what type of game is it if you prefer automatic weapons, which are almost ineffective ,and your forced to play against the the most powerful all rounder?
> I for one love legendary BR’s. You must have forgotten the timeless phrase that was shout out in every pregame lobby of Halo 3. “Veto for BRs!!”.
I was one of those people. But the main reason I was one of those guys and the reason I think many were was that every non-power weapon that wasn’t the BR sucked. AR starts were horrid in that game. Halo 4’s weapon sandbox is much better.
I like Legendary Slayer just fine (although I wish it was AR/Magnum starts instead of BRs), but I prefer Team Slayer.
> But what’s better about legendary Br’s as opposed to using the BR in any other game type. Why do we need it when you can use the BR in every game anyway? Why must every player be forced to use it?
Same starts means more predictability. With predictability comes the ability to plan. With the ability to plan comes strategy.
Customizable starts means unpredictability. You can’t plan for something that’s unpredictable. You can’t strategize if you can’t plan.
Therefore, same starts leads to more strategic gameplay.
That said, I wouldn’t be opposed to the idea of being able to choose between a BR and a Carbine, since they both have very similar killtimes and effective ranges. Aside from the novelty though, I can’t think of a good reason to use a Carbine.

If your opponent has a good strafe the carbine is the better choice, as with the Carbine it’s okay if you miss one or two shots. With the BR, miss 2 shots and your dead.
it should be a legendary playlist where like in slayer pro, players have the option to loadout with any headshot rifle plus the AR. it baffles me why they insist on shoving the BR down our throats.
BR starts has always been a great thing in Halo, but if I could have Legendary slayer with AR/Magnum starts I would definitely pick that instead. The reason being that when someone starts with a BR, more often then not, they won’t pick any other non power weapons. With AR magun starts, you’re forced to use a wider variety of weapons… But then again, in the global Championship, which had BR starts, some of those guys, even in the final rounds, were putting in work with the AR, which was kind of cool.
Also, the AR in halo 4 has a bigger skill gap than the BR… So, yeah

lr kills faster than the br zoomed in.
Its too much repetition; with regular Legendary Slayer you went and got the BRs and Carbines. Now you get the “Death Star” and have no reason to get any weapon other than a rocket launcher or sniper rifle so that you can deplete shields fast and BR them with headshots. It’s so dull.
If they added a carbine loadout and renamed the gametype Legendary Rifles, or something along those lines, it would be a much better experience.
> It’s not like the good old days when you spawned with an AR
I don’t know about you but those were never the good old days. SMG starts were terrible as well.
AR starts had it’s chance in legendary. It failed because AR starts are garbage. A small small minority of players actually think its ok to start with a -Yoink- weapon. Good thing legendary BRs is here.
To all the people who are saying AR starts promote variety, that’s simply not true. LS reiterated the problem with AR starts: once a team got the BRs or carbines, it was over for the other team. They could do nothing to combat that. This happened in Halo 3 (although it was slightly better because the BR wasn’t hitscan) and Halo 2 with SMGs. The reason CE worked was because you actually had a versatile weapon off-spawn. I for one hate the stale gameplay that AR starts entail.
BR starts have always promoted better gameplay and more variety in that you have a better chance to fight and get other weapons. But best of all, movement is overall better because neither team is stuck in hiding. I say bull -Yoink- to “there’s no incentive to pick up another weapon in BR starts”. In fact, I’m starting to think some people are just biased against the BR for no reason.
