Legendary Bosses: Two Birds with One Stone?

So, I’ve been thinking about people’s complaints regarding Legendary bosses. One being that Boss kills get stolen and it sucks. Normally my opinion on this is that it happens and that you just kind of have to accept it and do your best to keep the enemy team off the boss. Another complaint is that the Legendary bosses are worth too much. So let’-Yoink!- two birds with one stone here.

In this made up situation, Legendary Bosses are only worth 100 points. But, if your team does over half the damage to a legendary boss, your team will receive a 25 point “damage bonus”. So if your team pours a million bullets into a boss and it gets stolen, you’ll still get 25 points for your efforts. If you steal the kill, you get 100. But if you do most of the damage to a boss, and your team gets the final shot on it, you’ll get 125 points. Closer to what we get now. Thoughts? Opinions?

¯_(ツ)_/¯

I like how it is now. I may not alays get the kill, but I always play to kill the other team and when it gets close I use a power weapon to try and claim the kill. I think the idea of giving consolation points is weak sauce, We’ve all had kills stolen from us and we’ve all stolen boss kills, the circle will continue and people will complain no matter what.

I like it the way it is, please don’t change it. Switching it like this virtually guarantees each team points which feels like hand holding to me.

Well, I personally I’m mostly okay with how it is, but I understand the frustration people experience. Which is why I’m even suggesting this.

The problem is that lessoning the value of getting the last kill puts more emphasis on killing spartans. With a game type with such wild skill ranges and weapons that are higher for higher level players, it takes a few seconds of frustration and turns it into a whole match.
