Its more annoying rather than difficult. I am trying to finish up the second level and as much as I love the new campaign, I really can’t handle this. I have not even gotten to Prometheans and I cannot go much farther than the bridge you gotta cross.
Anyone else hate this.
I am gonna do it eventually but this is very frustrating.
Oh I found it frustrating at times as well. Not quite sure about the part you’re speaking of - but the best thing I can say is GO SLOW. Checkpoints are few and far between.
I actually cheated a bit at times. If it was a really trying space - I would fall back to my previous checkpoint (when I could) after I eliminated a few baddies.
The MOST frustrating part for me was scavenging for ammo/weps.
Go slow and it’ll be easier. Overall though I have to say it was a nice challenge for me on Legendary.
I’m sure someone is going to reply and say “OMG this Legendary is so lame compared to (insert favorite halo title here), ur such a nub.”
I did the first mission pretty easily but after that, I was very annoyed because it felt like Halo 2 legendary. Reach i did solo in 8 hours over the course of a week on solo because it was simple. This is not simple.

Just barely did it solo legendary…gave up after a couple hours on solo legendary with mythic on. So many knights coming at you and watchers resurrect them unless you focus on them first… Why are there so many sections in this game that are just “kill everything here to continue”. I mean, it would be different if there was a set time limit for Cortana to open the door, not just 5 waves of hard-to-kill enemies.
First half of the game is more annoying than the second half. Take your time, if you die, try a different approach. If you’re low on ammo look around, chances are there’s a weapons cache nearby. Sometimes on walls, sometimes behind rocks you can easily walk right past.
Infinity, which I think it’s chapter 4, was very annoying. The part where Cortana has to open a door and you gotta hold off the prometheans.
Took out all the crawlers first, then the watchers, then assassinated the knights one by one. Took me too long. When there were two knights left, cortana opened the door. I just ran by the two and managed to get through. @_@;

Agreed, sir.
I thought Reach was a pain in the -Yoink- in a lot of parts - but nowhere near H4 for me in terms of completion time and ticks off of the ‘patience meter’.

For this you need to have a few marines still alive. Once they get on the turrets it’s a slaughter-fest.

I haven’t finished yet, about half way through. But these guides have helped a lot. He shows you were you need to fight and when/how to just run by enemies that you don’t need to fight.

My marines never survived, though. Then again I had the Mythic Skull on, so I don’t think they stood a chance. But what killed them was the turret laser that kept charging.
Promethean Vision helped alot, though. Helped me to see when their backs were turned to me. That was my cue to run at them and stab. :3
When i do legendary campaign i just approach each enemy/group of enemies with a plan.
i almost always take out the little guys (grunts, jackals, crawlers, watchers) with headshots before tackling the tougher opponents(elites, hunters, and knights)
this cuts out all the extra gunfire that is instantly removing your shields before you can even get a good shot on the tough opponents.
for shielded targets like elites and knights the plasma pistol/precision weapon headshot combo still works miracles like in the previous campaigns.
unfortunately the pp runs out of charge rather quickly but they’re all over the place so that really shouldn’t be too much of a problem unless you miss a whole lot or forget to pick up new ones before moving on to new areas.
on the subject of missing with the plasma pistol… take out the little guys first so you can get closer to the toughies.
the light rifle and its ammo are abundant in the campaign. use/learn to use it effectively and you will be rewarded.
don’t be afraid to retreat, when possible, to safe/already cleared environments.
the auto sentry is incredibly useful for legendary as well. in fact i urge you to equip it whenever possible for the legendary version of this campaign.
it not only distracts your opponents so you can flank out of cover in a different direction and do it while remaining unseen it also contributes to the damage dealing portion of gameplay.
It seams weak and useless at first but once you realize how it can open up your opportunities you’ll come to love it.
No. 1 thing that ticked me off were the Checkpoints. GOOD GOD THE CHECKPOINTS!
Having said that I noticed that IF you kill the right/certain enemy you can actually trigger a checkpoint.
Also if you already played on the easier difficulties then you should know more or less which weapon to hang on to or ditch. Oh and make good use of your Nades. Don’t waste them.
As for an Armor ability I tried sticking with the Autosentry. It’s like playing Co-Op, hehe.
Last but not least make good use of your cover. Let your shields recharge and take the time to either retreat for a better weapon or try a different strategy/approach. Good Luck and (try to) have Fun!
They just need to take the weapons despawning out of campain and it would bealot easier. its really stupid to have it to have it for anything besides for verses.
