I’ve played Halo since 2001 and the entire time I’ve used the Legacy Thumbstick Layout. For some reason it doesn’t work very well in this Halo and I can’t aim at all. It feels AWFUL as if there’s still big deadzones even when I have all of the deadzone settings set to 0. Please fix this… I know not everyone uses Legacy Thumbsticks, but people do most certainly use it. If I switch to Default or Southpaw, the aiming works fine? But on Legacy there’s basically still giant deadzones? What is this? This is the only Halo that’s like this. No other shooter (CoD, Apex, Battlefield etc) have this problem with Legacy Thumbsticks. This is totally game breaking I can’t play this game at all. And the look sensitivity is far too slow on controller for a crossplay game with mouse and key players. Does anyone at 343 use Legacy Thumbsticks?
I just want to add that it was none other than Halo which coined the phrase and thumbstick layout “Legacy.” Before Halo came out in 2001, it was a common stick layout for N64 controllers, but none of the N64 games actually called it Legacy. It was just another normal stick layout. But it was Halo that coined the phrase and labeled the stick layout. And since then, in 2001 on Halo CE, every single other console shooter has copied that stick layout and named it Legacy. Because Halo did it best. The Legacy stick layout is in just about every other decent console shooter, thanks to Halo, which as a Legacy player, I’m grateful for. So for the Legacy stick layout to not function properly in a Halo game hits a little harder than perhaps maybe it should. It’s still broken regardless of this and needs to be made more fluid like it’s supposed to be. Feels like tue deadzones are still there even though the deadzone settings are set to 0. And what’s more, the deadzones feel even bigger in Legacy than they do in Default or Southpaw stick Layouts. Help… Can’t play the game. It is REALLY rough, it’s not supposed to work this way. It feels like a cheap copy/paste version of the original Legacy stick layout, copied into a totally different game engine, without the premium and sleek feel and fluidity that Legacy should have. Just as Default and Southpaw aiming have. It feels alien.
