I noticed when me and a friend of mine were trying to clear out all of the Legacy Halos on Legendary, Halo 3: ODST did not update its Co-Op Completion progress on Waypoint. This occurred on 4/11/2021. So, naturally, I told him to stop while we are ahead and that we don’t somehow lock ourselves out of a potential force-sync. We’re at Kikiowani Station, which should be 8/10 as we have already done Coastal Highway for Deju Vu, which only leaves us with two more missions; Kikiwani and Date Hive. And yet when I go to my profile on waypoint, it still shows up as 1/10 (that 1/10 being Deja Vu, we did it a little while back, before they announced the servers going offline). So then I try and see what other Legacy Titles are also not syncing, since previously in the same week, CEA was working just fine. Progress was tracking. I checked Spartan Assault for the 360 and it synced, I checked Halo 4 and it synced. But when we went to Reach and Halo 3; no dice. So from what I can gather, its really only affecting the elder titles, the Bungie ones as a whole. As I look at recent forums, I wonder if it has to do with that Halo Reach - Unavailable Server post? I can host Co-Op Missions just fine, but that is peer-to-peer, but I suppose the new data would have to touch the Games’ respective servers before they are available in Waypoint. I should also note that when I try to refresh H3, ODST, or Reach, sometimes Waypoint will give me the “PROBLEM DETECTED. Well, this is embarrassing. Looks like we have some problems on our end.” With the Red Mark VI sticking the other Red Team Member. But if I refresh the page again, it goes back to displaying the service record. This didn’t happen whatsoever in CEA, Spartan Assault, nor H4. Does this mean that the Waypoint team or whoever needs to look at this is aware of the issue?
So in short, progress is not syncing for:
- Halo 3 - Halo 3: ODST - Halo: ReachAnd it may be because the servers are getting Ddos’d or whatever’s going down there
I don’t believe it is a Gamertag change kinda issue, as I haven’t changed that since 11/28/2020 (+ it doesn’t say I’ve never played it. It says I’ve played it, just not enough of all that I have played), and even then I technically did not change it to anything new, only updated the casing, which Xbox doesn’t recognize as a different character. So, I had to change my current Gamertag to a placeholder one and go back to the original one, now with the correct casing, but I digress. I’ve tried multiple times to play a mission in ODST to get it to sync, but to no avail.
I’ve looked around at a few of my friends who unlocked achievements and made progress in 2021, and it does not display the correct stats for them either. These players unlocked them around February-Marchish. Some of them have beat Reach Solo Legendary, but it still says they have only completed it on Heroic, some have completed Deja Vu, and their Co-Op Progress is still at 0/10, etc. So it may be an unrelated issue to the servers being down temporarily. (As a side note, it says they’ve unlocked the achievement and the dates right, but obviously if you complete Reach Solo Legendary, your progress should be Legendary for solo completion right? Well it doesn’t show that for them)
I hope this gets fixed fairly soon and we can get back on the hunt. Let me know whether I should just redirect this to the Unavailable Server post or whether I should slap this in the Legacy Support category instead. Thank you for your time and take care.
