I’d love to see Reflection from Halo Reach again. I kinda liked that map… but then again they have so much stuff to fix beforehand that I don’t think adding maps is their priority right now.
You’re right, it will probably be a long while before we see any new maps. But I totally forgot about Reach when I made this post! Sword Base would be absolutely sick with the grappling hook! Also Boardwalk was one of my favorite maps of all time.
That’s true! I’d totally forgotten, I didn’t play that much H2 back then as I started out in H2V (Ughhh, Vista bleugh) so I didn’t remember that map was in H2 too!
Not really. Grapple Shot and Repulsor have a limited number of uses, unlike the Jetpack in Reach, which was a true map breaker. It completely destroyed the flow of older maps, like the aforementioned Ivory Tower/Reflection.
I thought about that too, but they could just leave that equipment off the map if they find it to be too OP. I hope they don’t use the grappleshot as a reason to not do remakes in Infinite. I also think clamber might make a few older maps feel broken, but it could also introduce some really cool new ways to traverse the map. Like if they remade Midship, you could probably jump from Top Mid and clamber into the top of each base.
Halo 2 had some great big team battle maps. Containment, Waterworks, Terminal, and Relic were my favorites. The only one that has been in another game since was Relic for Halo 2 Anniversary.
Any of the maps is gonna be a good start, just put infinite skins on them and we are good, don’t know why they put 10 maps and it got boring really fast…
Halo: Reach’s Asylum map (Halo 2’s Sanctuary remade in forge; Shrine in H2A) sucked with jetpacks. People would exploit the verticality for cover. It’s like being able to go in and out of cover while your target can’t. It’s one of the Reach maps that I wish I could choose to never play again.
