News articles are generalizing all fans of the franchise that disagree with identitarianism and the injection of leftist politics into their games as “alt-right”, racists, etc… I have been playing Halo since 2006 and own all of their games. I will no longer support this company if they continue to take sides. Every American has the right to freedom of thought, speech and expression, and any company that thinks they can be a moral arbiter deserves to fail. Cultural Marxism has destroyed much of what makes this the greatest place and time to live in history, and regular people need to do what’s right to preserve it. Many of us are apolitical, moderate or conservative, and our opinions and values deserve respect. Politics have no place in entertainment. You don’t know better than us, and you will not change hearts and minds with authoritarianism or censorship.

I’m not going to comment on the rest because I don’t think Waypoint is the best place for these types of discussions, but if this is your opinion then I don’t know how you can possibly be a Halo fan. Halo 2 is about how leaders lie and suppress information in order to maintain their power and how individuals under an authoritarian regime begin to question the truths that they’ve been brainwashed to take for granted. Half of the Halo books have political conflicts as a part of them. ODST and Reach deal with sketchy ONI which has parallels to the US’s NSA and CIA. Halo 5 should have been all about how public opinion can turn against someone for the political benefit of others but they ditched the Hunt the Truth ideas and made a worse, less political product as a result.
Not just Halo, but Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones, The Dark Knight trilogy, the MCU, pretty much everything involves political themes, plots, and morals. Should we not make WWII movies because they are political? I think you might mean that politics that you disagree with have no place in entertainment, unless you really dislike all of these games and movies for being political.
EDIT: this is also definitely not the right section of the forums for this topic.
I just want to clarify one thing here for those who might find it confusing: sanctioned discussion relating to nameplates in Halo that relate to present day politics does not mean that Waypoint is open to discussions about politics in general. You should not start threads about politics. Waypoint is not a politics forum.
