Left Stick to Sprint, B to Crouch.

Well it has been confirmed, pressing left stick forward will be how you Sprint, and B is crouch in H4. Wonder where they got this idea from???

It was only confirmed on the legacy controls.

> It was only confirmed on the legacy controls.

I don’t recall seeing “Legacy” anywhere, but this is how it is for DEFAULT out of the box H4 controls. Although the control customization is said to be rather extensive…

that was wat that person picked as there control scheme it was also said that there are tons of diff control schemes that we may be able to build our own control scheme

it was confirmed for default and southpaw I believe.

but there will be tons of options, so who knows.

personally…I hardly ever crouch. only to nade jump in H1. so I’m OK with this.

but, there will be plenty of configs, I’m sure.

Yeah, it was never confirmed as a default setting. However, I don’t really see how else they could lay it out.

P.S. that scheme sucks.

I just checked but it seems I was wrong (5th paragraph).

> that was wat that person picked as there control scheme it was also said that there are tons of diff control schemes that we may be able to build our own control scheme

Pretty much this. Chances are 343 have made some control schemes that will hopefully please almost everyone.

OMG no wtf.

seriously!?

B’s always been Melee, traditionally for Halo.

Jesus wtf.

And why the hell did they have to make it the same as CoD?! TO “APPEAL TO THE WIDER AUDIENCE”.

Are these guys that stupid!?

LB would be much better to sprint, ESPECIALLY for Halo.

And I say this from experience, not for the greater good.
I want a new Halo Experience, not a redefined one.

They better allow us to remap any button we want, like the PC does with it’s keyboard.

Well now that we get two AA’s I guess they had to figure something out… =’(

I just hope I can use Bumper Jumper. That is all.

Say goodbye to ghandi-hopping. No more easy crouching on-the-fly. Good luck holding down the crouch button to stay crouched.

I think our bumpers will still be jump and melee. But I am worried that crouch will also not be on the left thumbstick for us as it is with the default controls.

So now not only are people arguing about enemy redesigns, they’re also arguing about control schemes? What a world!

> So now not only are people arguing about enemy redesigns, they’re also arguing about control schemes? What a world!

Not really arguing, just bringing it to the attention of those who hadn’t heard yet.

I will adapt as is tradition.

copying COD isn’t a bad thing.

60 FPS
incredibly responsive controls, crazy high sensitivity.

seriously, if I could aim as quickly and precisely on halo as I can COD, I’d be the happiest person on the planet. shakes fist at aim acceleration

A lot of games XD

Call of Duty isn’t the only game that has left stick for sprinting and B for crouching.

I used legacy for 9 years, just changed a few months ago.

It’s RB in Reach and to be honest it’s a lot easier than having to press the B button.

> LB would be much better to sprint, ESPECIALLY for Halo.

LB is for Armour Abilities.

IMO they should have made it so that crouch is clicking in the Left Thumbstick while you’re standing still and in mid air (for crouch jumps) while sprint is clicking in the Left Thumbstick while moving (you can’t crouch while running).

I like the new controls just because COD has it that doesn’t mean Halo can’t.

i don’t think people understand how important crouching is, its a key part in strafing to throw your oponnent off, having it on the (B) button means you have to take your thumb of the right analog stick and press (B) meaning there is no point to it if you can’t aim back.

not just strafe though, crouching around corners or generally setting up for an ambush is going to be an extreme chore, you have to crouch, move and aim at the same time but not having crouch on the analog stick means you can’t do this.

i hope i can have a control scheme similair to bumper jumper …

The game is in alpha phase and things are guaranteed to change between now and launch. There was many more controller schemes confirmed as well. The one you read about is just ONE controller scheme.
