Lookin to buy a 24" tv so my wife wont kick me off the t.v all the time for gaming. Was wondering what you guys thought about LED LCD vs LCD tvs for gaming. Not sure if ill like playing on LED because im very used to my 42" LCD. My father in law has a 55" LED and I got used to it after a while but tried gaming on it and couldnt. The one im looking at is a 24" Samsung 720p LED 60Hz for $150! My wife says to get it for the cost but not sure if it will be worth it. So what do you guys think LED or LCD?
I would say LED for better quality. but truth is with me I cant play on a screen larger than 16 inches or else I suck. I am currently playing on a 12 inch standard Samsung (not high definition) if that will help you. lol
Well, technically, LED is only an LCD with an LED back lightning. However, LED back lightning usually has better dark levels and contrast than the standard fluorescent back lit LCDs. But don’t let them rob your money for a 720p panel. Get a proper 1080p display instead. You can easily find them for under 200$.
@ProximateXBOX: My problem is the exact opposite, I hate small displays. My current monitor is 1080p 27" LED I am sitting half a meter away from. I would’ve gone with a 2560x1600 30" (still at the same distance), weren’t they so pricey.
P.S. If it’s for gaming only, try to find information about the response time and the input lag of the display if possible. For gaming use, both are better to be as low as possible. It gives a much more responsive experience (which is important especially with shooters).
This thread is making me happier about purchasing a 22" 1080p LED samsung recently for under $200. It may even be 120Hz. I don’t remember off hand. All I know is I can’t wait to set it up and get good at Halo 4 like I was Halo 3. I’ve always played on a 19" screen until I got my 42" LG.
