Leaving Lobby = DNF

I thought I missed something earlier, but sadly no.

Each time that you leave a lobby, the game registers the next one has a DNF.

I mean, I could understand if it was during the voting process, but it’s anytime.

That messes up your Victory/Loss ratio real good.

I mean, we gotta stop playing one day right? I hardly play more than 3-4 games at a time, so the DNF has a major impact here.

Jesus, sometimes I like to pause my gaming session between matches so I can review loadouts, theater…

It HAS to be fixed, else the stats means nothing.

YEAH!! I just noticed, after two days MP on Halo 4 that I show 9 DNF/Incompletes and I have not quit any game before it finished. After reading the OP post it is the only thing that makes sense. When I finish a game I review the stats and by the time I jump out, if I do, the screen says ‘voting on map’. This is definitely not right, not fair…PLEASE FIX!!

lol @ this…

can’t wait for a competitive/ranking system to be involved.

You left a lobby! You lose a level, bad player you! NEVER EVER LEAVE A LOBBBY RAWR

28 Victories
21 Losses
9 DNF (never quit a single game BTW)

The graph shows something that looks 28/30 so I assume DNF counts.

Also that the hell the 3rd graph reprensents?

It’s insane. I have never disconnected from a game even from a connection drop, but I have quite a few DNF due to leaving between rounds. I recently had a DNF for a game where people on my team were dropped, but I wasn’t.

Just checked through my stats…

I’ve had 12 DNF’s apparently. Haven’t played too many games (43 in total) so checked back through my history… only one game shows as DNF the rest have a final position listed. Erm where are the other 12 then??

Same here. I have 17 DNF’s and I’ve never quit a single match yet.

My friends and I like to play various game modes throughout the night and there is not always time to back out right away before a pre-game lobby loads since it finds players so fast.

I’m seeing the same thing. Four incomplete games when I’ve not quit a single game early yet. And since these “incomplete” games count as losses it makes that statistic worthless.

Is there any official stance on this or are we just complaining into the wind here?

I made reference to this issue in another topic and some guy from Waypoint answered me. He asked proof even tough the link was provided, so I sent him a private message and I’m still waiting for an answer.

That kind of bug, it just insults me.

I noticed that it’s not every time now… My DNFs did increase but not as much as I’ve left lobbys

I don’t even know how you’d prove it. We don’t have access to the logs and I’m not about to spend time trying to duplicate the exact conditions under which it happens. All I know is that I’ve had a total of 2 legitimate DNFs due to connection drops and a crap ton logged by the system even though I’ve never manually left a match.

Checking my previous games, it’s clear to me that either Halo 4 is reporting, or Waypoint is logging, some of the matches I left in match making, before even the voting screen has appeared, as DNFs.

That’s right, I can’t prove that it wasn’t a legitimate quit.

They’ll just have to take that as an answer and start investigating the cause of massive DNFs across thousands of players.

Wow… I never noticed this. What an awful oversight.

I have the same issue. On day 1 of release, I played maybe 8 games, and 4 were DNF. As stated, I did not quit or lag out of a single match.

Also, just wanted to point out that this MASSIVE oversight was reported 4 days ago, and there hasn’t even been a forum response or posting regarding this issue.

Customer Service seems to be a weak point for 343i… have seen numerous threads dating back a week or 2 with fairly serious issues that were bumped and re-bumped with no response and the OP said they had no luck with xbox hotline or contacting Waypoint / bs Angel directly…

Yep, i’ve been having the same issue since Day 1. I was wondering what all the DNFs were about. This definitely needs to get fixed, seeing as it’s ruining everyone’s statistics.

The DNFs are getting even better! I just got a DNF on a match that I just completed… so did everyone else in the match:
https://forums.halowaypoint.com/yaf_postst141700_DNF-on-a-completed-match.aspx

Ouch… 17 DNF’s. I’ve only quit out of 2 games so far… (Which were J.I.P Matches)

The issue is known and being investigated. These odd DNFs share a trait that makes tracking them pretty easy, and I suspect they will be cleaned up at some point due to the unique timestamp they have.

Efforts are underway!

I haven’t seen anywhere that it’s being investigating and I’ve posted the matter several times.
