It is a crappy move by you to do this, but 343furries is nurturing this behavior by their bad design of challenges. Challenges should be able to be achieved in multiple modes and maps.
I had to play 2 ctf games and i took me quite a while to get through many of these oddball and slayer matches. So I feel your pain an understand the frustration.

You know, if some people want desperatly a special armor, color, emblem, whatever, then why waste time? They can just buy it from the shop. Problem solved, no need to go after the weekly challenges, they can just begin to play for fun.
I don’t think you can buy battlepass items from the shop and people can’t just spend money like that when they want to… you think everyone is made of money?? That’s a poor excuse. or are you some top 1% millionare or perhaps your a 343 employee shilling???
No, im not working for 343 and i dont buy cosmetics from the shop. I bought the premium battle pass and the campaign.
My point is, i dont care about cosmetics. Im just playing whatever gamemode / match i get. And still i was able to complete all weekly challenges.
But i wouldnt care a single minute, if i would miss one of the weekly challenges.
For example, if i had to play “5 match gamemode free for all” and i couldnt swap it, guess what? Right, i wouldnt care, i wouldnt buy a swap from the shop. I would let it pass.

Well we don’t have the ability to buy levels in the shop and some people don’t want to pay for cosmetics or levels either ,but also some people don’t have the time to play games they will earn almost nothing from… some people have a job, kids or other life things… Also the game has crashes… sometimes they don’t leave sometimes they crash.
This is very true. Being down a man is significantly more impactful in games where the player count per team is lower. This is why in games were you can have 32+ players you won’t feel the impact of one less person as you would in a game where your team consists of 4 players.
This is also why funneling new players to fill holes in matches generally doesn’t work too. By the time someone actually comes in, the game is already no longer salvagable. This way is also just a band-aid at best, as it does nothing to deter people from actually leaving.
A much better solution would be to allow teams to vote to forfeit the match instead. This would end it quicker so people could start a new search for a new game faster.
The reasons why Bungie ( yes, bungie implemented leaver penalties all the way back in Halo 2 ) implemented these was because of how rampart leavers were back then. When people could freely leave, matches would be ruined within minutes all the time. People would leave over the most petty reasons too. Oh, they had a bad start? So long suckers! Oh, that guy took MY SNIPER RIFLE? Welp, I’m out losers. They got the flag out of the base in Zanzibar? WElp, I’m outty yal!
Games weren’t enjoyable at all, for anyone. Games became one way stomps almost every match. Leavers were ruining the matches so frequently that the boards back then filled up with topics complaining about them.
I garuntee you, if leaving was fine for everyone. People fussing about objectives wouldn’t be any more happy. When they finally get a set up they can use to work on a challenge. They’d be a good chance their teammates would abandon them, leaving them to get stompted without making much progress on their challenges.
This whole game is bunch of bandaids over a barley held together ship of a game to be honest.
And here we all are trying to see if we should use duct tape, weld it, or whatever other solution we can come up with that hopefully doesn’t result in it falling apart! 
Game needs to be taken back to the mechanics shop and overhauled like a car or at the least totally tricked out and modified.

It’s true,.the matchmaking system doesn’t let you choose which game types to play, and that is definitely not ideal, but that is something you already know going in. If you join multiplayer games with other people, you shouldn’t quit.

I was never banned. Even if I was this happened almost a month ago and I guarantee that other people are leaving games voluntarily too. Hey, one of the developers voluntarily quit. Are you going to ban him for voluntarily quitting? No, your not. If that guy wanted to play halo: infinite I’m sure he be able to play it when he wanted to.
Some times people have to leave. Some times people have to quit. You can’t make me or others stay if we don’t want to be there. You can try to ban people but it’s not going to work, but they already know that.

So sorry that developers are often times too lazy to let you actually play what you want to play so they implement broken bans that do a lot of harm and almost no good. Oh your team was betraying you with the ghost all game? Too bad, you better stay and suffer or you are banned! You don’t have fantastic internet? Hahaha, get banned for being poor! Even though the game has join in and bots. 
so stupid and lazy to have these meaningless bans still. Better for them to have a lazy ban rather than make a game you actually want to play and let you play how you want to play it. Sad that anyone defends this trash.
I really don’t care. Staying in a game with no benefit is like staying at a dead end job or in a shi tty relationship. It’s not going anywhere, why am I staying. I’m not going to get they raise or challenge complete. What’s the point of staying?
It’s also why big team battle is the best game types. If 3 or 4 people leave it’s not that big of a deal.
I also like being down a player in older Halos’ and in ranked matches.
But, you are the one making the dead end games. When someone leaves before the game is still close, they make it a dead end game. YOU are the problem. If you want to come and go, play FFA or custom games with bots. Even Bot bootcamp would probably be fine. Otherwise, you ruin a game for 7 other people.

The problem is, the game is flawed. Why can’t I play EXACTLY what I want to play? Do you understand that TWENTY YEARS ago Halo PC allowed me to play EXACTLY what I wanted to play? And now you are telling me I have to stay in broken game getting constantly betrayed because you want inferior mechanics?! Sorry, NO! That is NOT acceptable in any way. You know what you could do instead of implementing a broken ban system that punishes poor people? IMPROVE YOUR GAME FOR EVERYONE. PERIOD.
Buddy, people went through great lengths to avoid bans. This thread has been beating a dead horse for quite some time
Ya, like the pathetic quit ban in Reach which would make team mares shoot me sometimes and when I asked what the hell they were doing they literally told me, “I want us both to die so the game ends faster so I don’t get quit banned.”
Dude, there is zero excuse. No team mates is better than bad team mates. Let them quit. They get filled with bots or other players.
