Leaving games because it wasn’t the right game type I was looking for

Just like every thread on here since the beta. The rules are made up and the points don’t matter.

Ranked =/ Quickplay. There is nothing on the line in quickplay. This discussion was never about ranked, my comment was never about ranked. If you get auto filled when you leave, you lose nothing and 80% of players are literally just playing slayer instead of objectives, who cares at all if someone leaves?

Not to dismiss you but @daveydeil and I have already done this song and dance just above

Uhh… TL;DR

Team A:
Leave the quit and ban system as is, it’s already generous, nobody should want to quit games, so we should rework the challenge/playlist system so that players don’t feel like they need to quit to get what they want.

Team B:
Remove the quit and ban system in QP as it’s pretty useless let’s be honest, there’s no real loss or risk to a casual match and adjust the join in progress so that it doesn’t matter if people quit as people can just join in.

Edit: again, not to dismiss you, but if anyone argues with you it’s just gonna be a repeat button and everyone will be saying the same things that have already been said.

I also think the challenge system should be changed because that would also help mitigate reasons to quit.

True, but at least I’d be getting one less game mode that’s not part of the challenge :joy:

For the guy that rules with the majority.

I guarantee I am not the only person leaving matches early because of challenges. Challenges are the only way to get the limited available reach armor and what ever the the ultimate challenge is rewarding. For example this weeks is one that was previously available in a different week’s challenges.

You know what your sorta right. Those 3 people got stuck with a bot that probably could qualify for silver in a ranked match. I’m sure some of those bots were replaced with players. I have entered a few games less then midway. A few I left because of how awful the team was doing. Sometimes there is no way to clutch a match like those. In previous Halos I would get left with a 2v4 and sometimes a 1v4, 1v3 or etc and win some of those matches.
It’s nearly impossible with a bot sometimes. It’s not a ranked match, so it’s overall Important isn’t very high on my list of things to care about in my head.

For the 3 people I leave every time. Sorry, But my time is limited and I’d prefer not to waste it in a match with random people that I don’t know, also, more then likely don’t have a mic or don’t want to be bothered to use it.

I think the if someone has a boost on, which literally only helps challenges, they should automatically be linked to the necessary game types in quick play, big team battle or etc.

2 weeks ago I was playing solo and that happened every single time. Best lucky streak ever. I was hopeful that something like that had gotten implemented.

My favorite part about the weekly challenges is that it appears none of them encompass actually utilizing the new playlists they created so you’re still stuck with having to jump into a quick play hopper to satisfy the challenge to play matches specifically in the quick play playlist.

It should just be to play any three matches period.

But why does anyone play this game??? Why should anyone care about the team. ‘Me’ downloaded the game ‘Me’ decided to play it. ‘Me’ decided to hit the button to join a game ‘Me’ decided not to shut my console or PC down while the game was loading… face it this game is all about ‘Me’

Also on a side note to ‘dig the hole deeper’ ‘Me’ doesn’t care about your superficial number that you call ‘rank’…

I’d hope it’s because they enjoy the gameplay or at the very least the Halo universe.

Because in games like TEAM slayer and big TEAM battle, you can achieve greater things working together? Something as simple as dropping or pinging a weapon for someone help complete their challenges, it would also promote a healthy game environment and stronger sense of community within the community, knowing that people are willing to help one another in the game.

I’m sorry you feel this way, but a great way to prove this wrong is to simply go into a match solo, with you as the only person in the lobby, where it can be all about you.
You’ll quickly realize that if you actually want to complete challenges, you’ll need another body, an opponent, one that’s willing to stick around and lets say… I dunno, not quit 9+ consecutive games?
So it can’t just be you, unless you wanna fight bots all day, because it takes 2 to make a matchmade lobby.

And even if the game was all about “me”, even if everyone else is a tool to exploit, things work better under a symbiotic relationship, you wanna be the gunner in a warthog? A good driver can make a superb difference, saving you from snipers, allowing you to focus less on where you park and more on just shooting, and giving you all around a better experience and the driver would have a gunner to protect them, earn them medals, and allow them to drive around longer and more freely… or maybe they’ll just drive you off the cliff becuase they too think the games all about them and would prefer that no one gets the hog if they can’t have it.

I’m not saying you have to suck up to everyone and play EVERY game, but you can’t reasonably justify quitting 9+ games and ask to not be banned, even if the challenge system sucks.

I don’t know how you’d dig a hole with this comment, this has me straight up confused more than anything, I see the shovel, but you have it placed on a mountain.

yeah like that changes the fact that many games lack almost any sort of teamwork.

They? as in one person or more than one??? Explain to me why you play the game, Why did YOU download it? If the game was some sort of scam and you had no idea would you still play it because your ‘team’ told you to? if the game was so bad that you couldn’t play it would you still play it because the ‘team’ told you to?

Oh no, he missed the point… the challenges themselves may not require teamwork, but they’d be easier with your team helping you, right? Getting kills with the mauler would be easier if the dude who has the mauler but doesn’t need it gave it to you so you could do your challenges.

“They” as in whoever in gods green earth is playing the game, I don’t think it matters if it’s one person or 100, it doesn’t change the original statement, I’d hope they were playing it because they like the game or the halo universe.

Well what if they didn’t? What if some friends dragged them into it? Do you think they’d still play?

Well if they don’t like the game they can just not play, like what? If their friends dragged them into it and they don’t like it, they could just tell their friends and ask them to find another game to play together.

Edit: I’m not gonna ask all of my friends to play something like Warframe or world of tanks with me if they’re more of a minecraft or Terraria kind of person, I’ll occasionally play games I don’t like because I value playing with my friends more, but they also do the same for me, cuz that’s what friends are for.

There was one bot that exceeded my expectations. Could have made it to a platinum skill rank without a doubt in my mind.

I completed every weekly challenges without leaving one single match.
I dont get why people leave matches to complete the challenges. Just play the game, you can complete the challenges by playing the game.
What is the reason to leave a match? Because you dont want to invest too much time to complete the challenges? Well i play halo because i have fun, not because i want some cosmetics for my spartan character.

Well if you’re picking a playlist based off of challenges and the challenges are not in sync with the playlists then it just feels like a drag.

If the challenges were for playlists that existed I think this thread wouldn’t be a thing.

Yes playing the game and not worrying about challenges is fun.

When you pay $10 for a battle pass, you want to complete it as fast as you can. When you have double xp boosts easing away because you’re in a game mode that will waste 10 minutes of that boost that cost money in the store, yeah it’s an issue.

It’s almost not even about time, they made it about money as well. If we paid $10 to unlock all the cosmetics instead of having to grind for xp then this wouldn’t be an issue. People paid $10, so people are willing to quit games and sit afk in bot matches because the player figures out that this is the fastest way to level up the battle pass.

I think 343 should take this all into consideration and fix the battle pass. The next season/battle pass comes out in may. I completed every weekly challenge so far and I’m already maxed battle pass. Xp is pointless now. Now I’m just complaining weekly challenges to unlock ultimate rewards and I’ll eventually run out of swaps getting rid of these broken challenges that are based off of luck.

If you’re going to give me a challenge give me the game mode to do it in. It feels more of a grind that I have to worry about my swap counts as well.

I have like 22 more swaps left to last me now until may. I’m not going to buy any from the store. At least I should be able to get some through challenges. Why would I pay for a swap to get a random challenge based on random luck? I’d rather buy something from the store that’s a 100% guaranteed armor unlock than buy a challenge for an ultimate reward I may or may not get based on the secret cheap -Yoink!- way they sneak in a final challenge, the “ultimate challenge”.

If I’m paying for swaps to get to the ultimate challenge, show me the ultimate challenge so I can see if I even want to buy swaps! Thankfully the ultimate challenges have been easy but still. What if I run out of time to “kill 50 Spartans”. Then I wasted money on swaps and have no swaps left!

I buying something I know is guaranteed.

Sorry I replied to whoever you are, this turned into a whole rant about swaps as well but I still think it’s on topic

Dont worry, i get your point of view. I also bought the premium battle pass. Until i have used 5 challenge swaps, not more.
Honestly, im playing for fun and still managed to complete all weekly challenges. Sure if i get a “complete 2 BTB this specific gamemode”, i play BTB. But i dont care if its BTB Slayer, CTF, i just play the match.
If i dont complete the challenge today, then i complete it tomorrow.
And not to forget, when im in holidays, i have no chance to complete the challenges.
But i wouldnt care at all

Because some people don’t have time to waste on matches that will get them almost nothing in rewards, some people have lives outside of games that demand their attention… Some people simply don’t have the free time to waste.
