i honestly think the “Leave Game” option should (if possible) should be removed. It’s so stupid.Sure, you may have -Yoink- teammates, but you shouldn’t abandon them.We should keep the betrayal ban option, but not leaving,or we could make the quit penalty HUGE.One of the two.
Taking out the option won’t do anything, people could always dashboard regardless
I’ll just double tap my disc tray then =)
I don’t stay in stupid matches
So you get it taken out? Then what?
I dashboard or tap my eject disk button.
If I’m in a game with bad teammates there’s no way in hell I’m going to sit there timing my shots carefully while my idiot team runs right into view. If the team is bad, I’m out. I’m not wasting my time with people who can’t aim correctly.
I’m guessing you hate quitters, I don’t like it myself but I’m not going to tell 343 they need to remove the option because it annoys me occasionally…
People would still eject the disk or go to the dashboard or in extreme cases, turn off the console.
You could turn your Xbox off. So removing that option would be pointless.
What about custom games, or Forge? Bad idea.
I agree with the replies, players would just eject tray or dashboard or switch off, they should be penalised for quitting,I think having a drop in drop out system would be better, if that’s possible.
Maybe in Halo 4 quitters should be penalized this way:
Everytime you quit you loose an amount of spartan points.

Having points deducted is a fair point, but it will have to be on average in my opinion, unless they have a way to know a deliberate quit from a net disconnect or power failure etc etc,
This has been discussed for years, it’s a tough one to fix.
People will just dashboard, so it wouldn’t make much of a difference.
People could also unplug their Ethernet cord to…

You’re trying to fix a problem by attacking the symptoms, not the cause. People don’t just quit because they have the option, people quit for tons of reasons. They might have something else to do, the teams might be mismatched, they got stuck with trolling teammates, there are tons of reasons.
The biggest I suspect is the mismatch, and well for that a better Matchmaking system would be a much better way to deter quitters than taking away the quit option or implementing a harsh quit ban.
There are many complaints about the MM system, and while it does work for me most of the time, sometimes are there are big mismatches. Because of the low population we get paired up with either people who are less skilled or more skilled than us.
So if you want to eliminate quitting, try asking for a better system. I’m cool with it most of the time, but it’s not perfect. Nothing is. We can only hope they fix the problem in Halo 4. I feel that it will be better because of a higher population and an improved system.
No. There should be no quit ban that you can join in on games. If they took that away I would be dashboarding an awful lot of times.

No matter how stupid or unfair, I never quit.
[Within the Confines of Reach however]
What we need is a real ranking system, so that when you quit a match, you take a big hit to your ranking (or ranking score, or experience, whatever). If there are actual consequences for quitting, then people would think twice.
I don’t quit unless I have to leave my house.
…Or the game lags and boots me.
