Here’s a good suggestion to keep most of the abilities back in Halo 4 but in a style a la Halo 3 Equipment. Being everyone wants jetpack as a pick-up or no sprint for Halo 4 is because the abilities are an abusive gimmick that in general causes frustration for everyone.
If in an equipment style, could keep their circular amount but once used up, it disengages or breaks like the equipment for bubble shield, power drainer or re-generator. Sprint would enable a quick burst but falls off your back after its full use, jetpack will start up again but malfunctions like animations. So there’s no recharge, no abuse except going for it, and brings back Halo the way it was while still having the Reach people be like “hooray for abilities” but as equipment now…

this is a good idea, i always liked halo for the fact that everyone was completely equal to each other in the beginning of the game, and it was up to you to see how you could get the advantage over people with equipment and powerweapons. halo had a balance, there were always a set amount of power weapons, vehicles and equipment in the field at a time. it wasn’t like most modern fps’s out there where a level 50 is goin to have a huge advantage over a level 1 because of level 50 weapons and abilities. so i love that someone around here still thinks the same way i do…go halo 4! bring back the old halo feel!
what methew said in his OP is pretty much the same as what you said but in a lot more coherent manner, don’t worry about that though because not everyone can explain what they are thinking, i have troubles with it myself and would probably have said it the same way as you did.
