As pretty much anyone who’s acquainted with my posts knows, I’m a big fan of survey questions. Today I thought I’d pitch something a little harder than usual:
What’s your least favorite classic or Bungie-style based helmet?
My pick is a tie between Operator GEN1 and Security GEN1.
I’m also not keen on the security helmet, it seemed an odd choice of helmet to be included in the pack.
I remember seeing lots of high ranked players on Reach wearing it, but I don’t think it is a “classic” helmet.
I’d have preferred them to pick something else, as there were better options IMO

Do you mean the classic helmets that were in the classic helmets req pack, or any of the helmets from Bungie games? Because if it’s the latter, I’m going with JFO. Thankfully it didn’t make it into the classic helmets pack because that thing looks weird.
Also, I’m not a big fan of EOD. I can’t not see those chin things as low sideburns, but it still looks kind of ugly even without them. Special mention goes to Military Police which would look awesome if it didn’t have the flashlights on both sides (I still wear it sometimes, though)

I understand Security gen1, but why Operator gen1?

Same here. Hazop gen1 or Gungnir gen1 would have been much better than Security gen1, in my opinion.
Security helmet.Not my favourite.

I don’t know. Operator is very unappealing and plain to me. It’s kind of what makes me dislike Intruder.
I’m calling it, Security Gen1 is the least appealing to me. Operator Gen1 is fine to me.

I see. But with all the wacky looking helmets in Halo 5, plain ones feel like a breath of fresh air to me
To me, Security GEN1 always gave off a weird chipmunk vibe with its rounded design and that tiny “nose” on the front.
I also would’ve worn Military Police (a few times) if it didn’t have the two attachments on it, but the base helmet is too simplistic for my tastes.
Operator is neat, but it doesn’t seem to go well with some of the armors out there.

Absolutely. Missing out on the ODST helmet was a huge missed opportunity. Actually, I think it would’ve been better if ODST was thrown in as the 10th helmet, but nope…
I don’t like all of it except recon gen1.

Really? Not even Pilot?

Sorry. I dont really like classic spartan helmets. I do like anything elite classic though.
EVA has always looked sort of odd to me. It’s pretty simplistic so I can see why others like it, but it’s never been my cup of tea.

You’re right, it does. A lot of Reach helmets had that little “nose”. Notably CQC, and Hazop which otherwise looks really nice. Even Jorge’s Grenadier helmet has a nose. It is probably my least favorite design choice about the helmets in Halo Reach.

I always wear the Operator gen1 helmet with the Operator gen2 armor, and I’ve found it actually goes well together because the circles all over the armor match the circle-shaped things above the helmet’s visor. Of course my secondary color has to be white in that situation to match the annoying white paint on the armor, but I still think it’s a good look.

Give it a shot, maybe you’ll find an unexpected surprise among them.
Chiefly, all of the GEN1 helmets. I wish for them coming with body armor though tbh
Mark v delta and recon gen1

Why are those your least favorites? They both look ok to me

I guess I can see why you might dislike the Delta. That thing goes pretty far in the avenue of minimalist design. I like it, but some might not.
But the Recon? I can never grasp why anyone might dislike that thing…
