Leaders

We need to be REALLY careful about leaders. I’m not sure if I want to see covenant leaders again due to the aggro. However, giving covenant leaders that work like the UNSC did that would be awesome. If we HAD to have a unit for the leaders then maybe a mid-late game purchase. What could be some powers that leaders could have? Maybe for the flood they have a trait when they kill units there is a chance to spawn their own basic unit? The arbiter or elit general gives us high teir elites or a special vehical? Brutes obviously give us brutes again. Those were awesome. Give ideas

if flood is coming in the whole scene is going to be changed REMEMBER this is a rts 7 years older than the previous one it will not be the exact same it will have more units bigger maps ect.

I loved it, when in a 3v3 game three covenants rushing us but totally failed when 9 Spartans fight against them^^

I’m more curious as to who the Leaders are going to be.
The UNSC will have Cpt.Cutter, Prof.Anders and Unknown, I’m expecting someone from Red Team.
The the covenant will have Mr.Brute and two others.
Then if the flood are playable you’d have the grave mind and who else?

Those are all nice, and maybe the Spartan Hero for Red Team, does extra damage more health, faster shield recharge through upgrades and can do a whole bunch of other stuff. I just really dont want to have to go through leader rushes again.

I totally agree they should be there but not as early I mean it’s not a bad thing but early game the would wreck a base real quick against unsc and thriving could be done really I want a balace like one Spartan to be able to be mad to counter it early game

I would contrast the original post author’s statement into my own opinion: instead of getting rid of playable Covenant leaders, add playable UNSC leaders.

Covenant leaders appearing on the battlefield is something that definitely needs to stay. Without leaders, the Covenant would stand no chance against the UNSC. That Covenant has always been somewhat underpowered for multiple reasons. I’ll list a few. Warthogs build out of the main base, which means that the UNSC has a much easier access to scouting units which translates into a better economy. The UNSC’s bases have more health than Covenant bases (the shield generator does not negate this weakness as late-game units power through it and it takes up a building slot). The UNSC’s supply pads give supplies faster than Covenant warehouses. Every single UNSC counterpart to a Covenant unit is a little bit stronger. The Covenant is unable to make use of its higher population advantage as most games (1’s and 2’s that is) are finished by the 15 minute mark. Because of these things, it is obvious that the Covenant needs to be buffed, not nerfed.

Hmm I have a feeling the flood will just have one leader but with 3 different abilities to choose from.

I also see a dlc with a campaign of the forerunner/flood war adding in the prometians/forunners

I think master chief would be a cool leader in the game he could call in blue team and have a warthog or a broadsword from halo 4
