Before i start, some of you are probably going to say, “thats already been covered” but i couldn’t find any information.
so i can can see a lot of you saying, no, they aren’t cannon, because forge is dead and so is johnson. but what if some are, and some arent? how will we know?
another huge thing, and this is complete speculation, but what if johnson didnt die, and he just went unconscious. he could have woken up and made it to a part of the ark that wasnt damaged and survived.
and lastly, even more outrageous than johnson surviving, could forge some how have teleported to the ark before he “died”. maybe johnson and forge are just chilling on the ark, waiting for someone to get them home.
Well, I’m 80% sure that Colony and Kinsano are cannon, I need to watch one more video to confirm that.
However I know that Forge IS NOT alive, and I’m 99% sure that Johnson is dead as well. Grim said that the next Cannon Fodder would give us some more lore background on him and his army, but I doubt that would say that Johnson is alive.

Characters are dead until they are not.
If someone decides that dead characters need to be alive, then it will be so, but for now both Johnson and Forge are dead.
People die when they are killed. FACT
343 used his canon to kill Johnson so hw2’s multiplayer is non-cannon
I believe that all characters are canon since they all have a background. Forge and Johnson are also still canon dispite their deaths also Johnson would be more likely to survive than forge

God they’re so dead, no deus ex machina here buddy. The UNSC has facilities on forerunner sites including the Ark. Henry Lamb research base. To power houses like johnson and forge wouldve stopped Cortana single handedly with the Banish as pets. But sadly they are and will super dead. They were both fatally wounded and got obliterated by explosions.
The characters existence in the Halo universe is canon. So even though we haven’t seen some of these people outside of HW2, Kisano and Colony and Decimus are all canon in that they existed in Halo. However, multiplayer battles in HW2 are not canon, unless they are just simulations and therefore not real (but I doubt this, given that you can have Cutter v. Cutter and such). Forge, Johnson, Decimus: they’re all dead in the canon. Their appearance in HW2 multiplayer does not mean they survived their respective ends or that they will be brought back to live in some way. It just means someone thought these dead guys would make cool leaders and put them into multiplayer.
You can tell by reading there information logs in game they tell you everything that is lore about the character and when that lore is pulled from. I’m not sure what there called someone will tell me I’m sure of it.

Colony and Kinsano are cannon. Colony is on the ark for its own agenda no one knows what though but I imagine its after some powerful tech. Kinsano was part of the colonial resistance but joined the UNSC when humanity went to war with the Covenant. Both Forge and Johnson are well and truly dead.Forge would of been teleported into ‘oblivion’. This is why Noble team uses the UNSC savannahs FTL drive to destroy the Covenant super carrier Long Night of Solace. If Forge is alive then so is Jorge ( odd they die in a similar way and have similar names). Johnson is also dead if he survived the attack from Spark there is no way he would of survived the destruction of installation 4B. But say he did survive the attack from spark, somehow had enough strength to find orbit capable transport and escape the ark the pulse from the halo would of killed him but let’s say he even managed to survive that being stranded on a damaged world for 8 years would of driven him mad. Both are truly dead the other two are cannon and are on the ark.

Same as the Arbiter (Ripa 'Moramee) and Forge in HW1 multiplayer, and Jul 'Mdama in H5 Warzone. If MP is ‘canon’ then it has to be simulations only.
I reckon Kinsano and Colony will feature in the campaign expansion to flesh them out as characters a little bit more.
I do like that we have these references back to Halo’s past, but I would also like to see new characters, or existing franchise characters from the books fleshed out more

Knowing 343 this is a stupid but possible thing.
Me myself I won’t think anyone is cannon unless they are legit in the campaign.
