Depending on the time period we could see dozens of different leaders. From Admiral Hood to Captain Lasky to Anders or a newly introduced character like how Seargent Forge was. We could also see how the prophets, Jul’Madama or the Arbiter or a covenant leader altogether.
I think that even if some famous leaders aren’t in the campaign they should still be in multiplayer. That way we can have the greatest what if match ups ever.
It would also be awesome if leaders did more than just a special ability, for instance if Captain Lasky is your commander then Spartans you train may be cheaper or take less tech level to get them (assuming you can train Spartans in the game) since he is the leader of the Infinity which houses all the Spartan 4’s if they aren’t being used somewhere else. This way leaders are very important and they offer major gameplay changes.
Also the ability to play as the same side but against each other so if Jul’Madama and the Arbiter were both covenant leaders they could fight each other (I don’t think that entire groups should be divided into smaller factions). And some leaders unlock or lock certain units, the Prophets could train both brutes and Elites but the Arbiter couldn’t etc.
Possible have a cool 3v1 feature where someone could play as the flood or Prometheus, or Cove vs. UNSC. I would be really happy with that could become a balanced gamemode out of it all
Definitely finding out that total war creators will be working on this and they are lurking these forums I hope they read this. Factions and leaders should be huge.
From unsc to Oni and the rebels with different houses and leaders like master chief, Lasky, palmer, keys, and halsy
To arbiters swords of sanghelios and the prophets covenant. And the rouge fleet we encountered in halo 4. With different houses such as when the brutes took over to before when the elites were in command.
Don’t forget about making a flood faction.
From the didact promethean to the librarians promethean and sentinels.
This will open the door for the best of rts players.
Also making the maps and a sort of coop mass grand campaign like the total war series.

Yeah like, Pre-Halo 2 Tartarus as a leader of brutes

Or maybe since its supposed to line up to a little bit after the end of Halo 5, maybe they add a new faction that mixes the technology of the Prometheans with human and covenant tech, since Spoilers Cortana has essentially taken over most of the galaxy which includes all of UNSC and covenant space from what i understand. that would be badass.
Also, i was looking through youtube and found a campaign mission for HW2 and it hinted at another faction fighting against the Banished. So i highly doubt we wont see another faction (or maybe two!) in the future after launch. thoughts?

I wish that the faction that they add would be the flood, it would be pretty awesome if they were a playable faction that you can play as in most of the game modes except campaign.

They would be making a big mistake by not making the flood a playable faction. Do they not know how much more money they would make by adding the flood into the game when it’s released? They could at least add them as a dlc faction, they could add flood types from Halo 3 and maybe make new flood types that would replace vehicles. I saw a guy who posted a forum topic that had already come up with all of the abilities for the flood leaders and how the faction would function. So all they have to do is add them as a playable faction, but I don’t think that they’ll end up adding them to the game because they’ve said that all of the flood was destroyed in Halo 3. So they’ll probably use that as an excuse to not add them to the game.
Well think about, most RTS games have a minimum of three playable factions. I don’t think they’ll bring back the flood though, i think the Prometheans are safer bet being they have been very prominent in the current games.

I still think they should still add the flood faction as a playable faction. Imagine spawning infection forms from a flood colony base and the infection forms are climbing down a cliff to get to the enemy troops that are below them, and the enemy troops try to fight off the infection forms but fail. I think that sounds pretty epic, they could make it so that once a flood colony base is fully upgraded it can become a gravemind that is able to either be rooted in place (which would boost it’s defense) or it could be a mobile base and attack enemies with it’s tentacles. It’s hero ability could be to use telepathy to drive enemy soldiers insane and make them attack each other. It could also split apart into a large amount of infection and combat forms since the gravemind is made out of biomass. Those are my ideas and why I want the flood to be a playable faction. Thanks for reading this, and sorry it was so long.
now that i think of it, i would love if they added a grunt leader, with a unique unit of the grunt goblins. that would be pretty awesome. maybe also a lower prophet who survived and works with Atriox, that would cool too.

Its the sentinels. Later on they see a ton of them attacking a Banished base and say “better stay clear of that”. So whether theres something controlling the sentinels is the question and we know it isn’t Cortana from Halo Mythos.

No prob, and frankly it would the Zerg of Halo Wars.

How would Prometheans play if they were a faction? Don’t just say like the Protoss!
