Listen before anyone says anything, don’t come on this post and spam “COUNTER UNITS! SCOUT!” until you actually faced this popular strategy.
The banshed meta right now.
Pick atrrox.
Build locast, reavers, and tanky hunters.
Go to his base.
Use invincible.
Use eradication on base.
Locast clean up.
Profit at 7 mins.
Nerf locast so they STAND STILL while shooting. That way they can’t melt anything without being a target.
Why do they do so much damage to any unit? They are BUILDING KILLERS not anti everything.
Also, buff the tier 2 upgrades for unsc. I should not have to wait unti tier 3 to upgrade cyclops ONE time. At least have them a speed buff or more tankyness at tier 2. Its hard to fight locast with non upgraded cyclops.
Leader powers should not attack bases! All I have to do is use eradication on a player base and boom i am lit. Even if my army dies i just build the same thing and since it has a short cool down.
I don’t think locust should be able to move so fast and or shoot while moving. One of the two. They are a little OP I agree. The exact change needed I’m not sure. They melt everything too fast that’s for sure. 5 can take a full base in 9 seconds. That’s ridiculous. Going invincible with them is just plain stupid. I dropped a fire bomb as kinaso when I was across the map with my army. But guess how much damage they took. Zero.

Yeah, I agree. Locusts need a nerf one way or the other. Honestly litterally only locusts might even be better (not even reavers or hunters =| ).
Locusts can be countered. They have infantry speed which is already slow for a vehicle.
Plenty ways to counter it:
At T1: When defending a base, throw a watchtower. Turrets will be able to see the locusts and demolish them.
At T2: When outside of the base, banshees+shrouds or hunters can counter them. You have to run past them, and your units need support.
At T3: Blisterbacks make short work of the locust ball.
Also, a pretty useful tactic is to ALWAYS have the high ground so you have to force them to come close.

As opposed to the current UNSC meta of complaining on the forum about how anything that beats them is OP.
They are not anti everything, they just have decent dmg that is increased vs bases, they only thing making them good is the kite ability. You remove that then you make them useless, not to mention that is the Banished answer to the Kodiak, Blissterback is our answer to the Vulture. Locusts is our t2 siege/arty unit, you remove the move and fire then you start having to look at increasing things like it’s hp, range, or dmg to compensate, all of which would actually make then even better base killers.
And to the guy complaining that his inferno did nothing, should have baited with the missiles first, then the inferno if the missiles didn’t do it. And as far as you UNSC -Yoinking!- about eradication your inferno is actually much stronger on bases, still wipes army nearly instantly, has the added benefit of zone control, and costs less. You really have nothing to -Yoink- about but it’s what the UNSC does best it seems
Locusts are ridiculous with Shipmaster also.
Step one: build huge party of locusts woo fun!
Step Two: Walk to enemy base
Step three melt everything on the way taking map control.
Step 4 oh noooo they have an army of Cyclops and tanks no problem!
step 5 send them to opposite side of the map
step 6 Melt base and run
rinse and repeat.

You forgot the real step 1: having a bad opponent.
I played against a player who used locusts to backdoor my bases, but looking back, I made plenty of mistakes that lead me to losing the match. I know how to play against the locusts more convincingly now.
I learned that just because you lose to a strategy or unit doesn’t necessarily mean it is overpowered, oppressive, or anti-fun.

I agree,I felt they added too many new leader abilities and they made eradication so o.p
But locusts are so weak against hunters…
I mean… the biggest thing in fighting locusts is map awareness. Use squads of marines or grunts to take watchtowers and see the routes the locusts could take. Then, use this knowledge to defend choke points when the locusts try to go through.
Using this strategy, you can easily prevent them from even reaching your base. Defend long enough, and you can stomp whoever’s using them with a bigger, better army.
step 1 pick kinsano
step 2 win
the thing that is so bad about locusts is that they die really fast and they cost a lot of power. This really puts you at a disadvantage if you lose them. losing a locust army in a match is hard to come back from and if some jerk is locusting you up then make hornets, warthogs, hunters ,or banshee to speedily take the locust out plus use any leader powers you can. the goal is to take the army out fast and once you do then attack and he will be helpless. you make sure you have taken over nodes when dealing with the locust people. otherwise they have power to make locusts. if the locust guy is smart he will have some hunters and reavers but leader powers will come in handy as long as it is not atriox, if it is atriox then attack first and wait for the bulwark first, then use your leader powers to take the locusts out. having fast units helps when dealing with shipmaster. decimus is a crappy version of colony and colony is good for fast hit and runs so don’t use colony for an early locust rush.

“Don’t do it Atriox, I have the high ground!”
