leader Powers are just an out for bad players

I just spent 50 minutes in a 2v1 where my partner disconnected in the first 15 minutes, I lost to 2 players that compiled 2 armies of 2 different unit types lol.

The thing that kept them in the game were the spamable Leader powers, I changed my army composition 3-4 times to no avail and with each attack faltering solely because of leader powers, I broke my armies down into 4+ control groups to no avail…

You just cant escape cheap banished powers even when the games running smoothly @ 60+fps lol. This just cant be fun to watch can it?..I mean i know its not fun to play.

Put a god -Yoink!- GCD on hero powers in 2v2+ modes please (after you nerf them). Till then its rush or go home before the game gets decided by which ever teams loses a player first due to disconnecting.

The only power I think is op is the eradication beam but even then you can walk out of ts reach. In a 1v2 your going to get destroyed unless you turtle up and play smart.

In general no matter what scenario the enemy team it will seem un fair and bs. They have 240 pop you have 120. It seems to me your downfall wasn’t just on the leader power cool down.

I’ve played as all leaders and I find the leader power cool down is a bit too long. Certain powers should be faster

No im sure against better players the game wouldn’t have went on for almost an hour lol, But i had these 2 beat for 30-40 minutes tech wise and army wise and just couldnt punch through they’re bases due to both of em spamming hero powers.

Guess my point was 2 fold, In a 2v1 scenario (with the pop cap going against you and 2 sets of leader powers) your better off not trying…Which is sad.

Secondly HW2 puts way to much reliance into leader powers, it would have been cool if they would have shot down my first max cap army with both leader powers…But i restocked and hit the pop cap long before they did and when i got back to they’re front door…I had to deal with all the same leader powers again.

Its just boring and lazy gameplay.

Edit: also let me note that im speaking banished powers, not unsc.

I do agree that banished powers have the edge over unsc. It’s still early yet but I hope in time players will find ways to succesfully hold off multiple players. I myself try turtling in most games but give the current meta if rushing, and how paper thin as jnits are, its very difficult

So is this thread about leader powers or about disconnecting?

You know after playing almost 200 games, I’m finally accepting the fact that leader powers are pretty much balanced. You just have to use them smart and avoid the enemy leader powers as well.

Keep track of their cooldowns will help you win more games, don’t spam them and use them strategically. For example, I will always save my bulwark or unbreakable for when the enemy uses carpet bomb or something like that.

I’d say leader powers are fine.

I concur with this. I haven’t played 200 games but a decent amount and I do fear any leader power. They are extremely helpful if used correctly and can be game changers if timed right BUT they alone don’t sway a game one or the other imo.

Agreed, I think people just need to take time to learn about each leader and their powers more.

Did you have Logistics 3? If so, then you could’ve timed your attack depending on the leaders you were against. Speaking of opposing leaders, who were they? What leader were you using?

On your point about Banished leader powers being better, that’s how they should be. When Tanks and Wolves get buffed, the banished won’t have much to fall back on. Even with them having the best leaders powers, the banished are still below the UNSC.

I have no issues with the leader powers. I find none of them to be overpowered. Yes, the Eradication beam to be quite devastating, but it should be. What we need is a disruption ability, not nerf a power because of your inability to get out of the way.

There is only 1 issue. Users building nothing but Sentinel as Anders and crushing anti air, and bases in seconds

The only bad one is the Eradication beam… Even when I’m on top of my units you’re still losing 1/2 to 3/4’s of your units. Especially if you have tanks or other slow units…

More about leader powers in 2v1 situations.
