With more reason I keep dissapoiting myself after reading this.
“We decided to focus our efforts on a single special edition instead of numerous ones so you wouldn’t have to pick and choose between what ancillary items you want. Now your primary choice is whether or not you just want the game, or the game along with all the goodies.
-Halo Bulletin, 16th of May, 2012”
It pisses me off and all the LE buyers, just look at that damn bulletin, FALSE ADVERTISING TO ITS FULLEST.
Recruit Armor from being exclusive went to available to all.
War Games LE < War Games Standard.
Forward Upon Dawn LE not physically ours. (via stream) and DVD & Blu Ray will come out later.
Specializations open to all at the beginning.
What kind of -Yoink- is this? If we dont get anything really exclusive shortly before nov. 6 to compete against the -Yoink- that 343 did to the ones that preordered LE, I will downgrade my edition.
The armor was never official advertised as included. The different War Games passes worth is up to the people buying them. Forward Unto Dawn was never promised to be physical.
Maybe you should’ve done a bit more research, it wasn’t falsely advertised.
I agree with you all the way OP I was willing to look past the other stuff but the news about the specializations was the last straw! I mean I really could care less about the avatar stuff. But basically now I can save myself 15 bucks if I just get the war games pass. I will give 343 till the 5th or I will downgrade my pre order. I would suggest that from the start all weapons, and skins be unlocked for us LE buyers.

Limited edition was NEVER supposed to have the Recruit Armour. Read the bulletin, go read it right now, the first bulletin about LE. It say Recruit Armour SKIN! SKIN!!! Not armour! SKIN!!! And please explain to me how the standard edition is better? WIth the LE you get a lot of physical things with it and a special 90 minute edition of forward unto dawn AND all specialisations at start! So what’s the problem?!
What annoys me the most is that Halo fans (both regular Joe’s and those of gaming sites) have been on countless sites and boards discussing the various extras that come with the game. All that time and Microsoft/343 never clearly stated who is getting what, leaving it hidden in the fine print. A little clarification months ago would have averted this mess.
Instead, we get this. Ridiculous.
It isn’t false advertisement; just really poor communication.

Thank you Corbra. I have no idea how many times i’ve told players that the Recruit Armor was never advertised, even provided the link and still, the doubters doubted!
Really guys, don’t be stuck on stupid.
However, Forward Unto Dawn is coming to blue ray, just letting you guys know.

We were promised the game with all the goodies. We were promised exclusive early access to the six specializations.
I can get a better deal by buying SE, War pass, and FUD on youtube and still get better exclusive content. Thus, by watering down the concept of what made it the limited edition: it is false advertisement.

You still get all the goodies that was advertised with the LE.

Wheres my fotus armor then? Isnt that part of “all the goodies?”
Where are my strider, and scanner helmets and my falcon emblem? Thats not all the goodies?

And so does everyone else. One of the biggest incentives for getting LE was EXCLUSIVE early access to all specializations.
But now everyone gets them if they just play the game before November 20? What the hell is that?

Might want to brush up on your reading comprehension skills. You get all things advertised with the Limited Edition. FOTUS and those two helmets were never advertised for the Limited Edition.

The two helmets were said to come with the mappack pass. The mappack pass comes with the LE.
ONE WOULD THINK LE GETS THE TWO HELMETS. Especially since LE costs $40 more than the standard edition.

while I understand what you are saying here, I think you are just arguing semantics.
Even if you take away the recuit debacle, I think its very difficult to argue that the LE has not been severely devalued and simply is no longer worth the money

343i made it clear that there would be two types of Map Pass. They did not hold off on this info at the last minute. They clearly explained the differences between the two. One gets two helmets and an emblem and the others don’t. The LE comes with other exclusive content.

And if you still think it is worth the money like I do? Nobody is forcing a gun to your head to change to a standard. Change if you wish. I’m not.
Technically, you were never lied to. They did say straight up that you were going to get the following:
An Armor Skin
An AR skin
A Map pack bundle pass
A game
Some paper stuff.
Access to 6 specializations.
I disagree with you that you were being falsely advertised because you ARE getting what is described up there. However, I AGREE with you that it is kind of a -Yoink- move to take away a good chunk of the LE and give it to everyone.
It’s not false advertisement, but it is bs that they’re going to do this part anyways.
