Imagine how many copies of this game will be returned once players who aren’t aware and up to date of the lack of splitscreen try to jump into a game with thier buddy, girlfirend, wife, husband, boyfriend, brother, etc. and for the first time in history, they just cant play together. I imagine tens of thousands if not more copies will be returned and there will be a surplus of Halo 5 copies just stacked. Looks like I’ll have to buy another xbox and a tv and another halo 5 and xbox live, just so my girlfriend and I can play it…Sad to think I introduced her into Halo recently and now that she learned of this news she is pretty pissed off. Looking at you 343. I think back to the master chief’s trailer. Ask yourselv’es about this sacrifice. “Was everything you’ve compromised, everything you’ve done, worth it? Was it?” Was it worth it to sacrifice real social gaming in favor of 60 fps by yourself?

I don’t get it either. I really don’t. Almost everything I’ve seen about this game looks amazing. It’s on course. Getting steadily finished. Beta looked awesome. Good responses from 343. Team is growing enormously in skill and size and budget. HuntTheTruth trailers were incredible. And then…

Not 343i fault people don’t read the back of the game case… I wouldn’t expect too many other games to have campaign split screen. Will BO3? Probably not. SWBF3? Doesn’t even have a campaign from what I understand.

Lmao! Thanks for the laugh! BO3 will feature 4 player splitscreen coop and Battlefront will feature 2 player splitscreen.
I didn’t make a big deal about split screen being absent until I played through the game and realized that the commitment to 60 fps didn’t even pay off… the game looks no better than halo 4. Every step of the way through my campaign playthrough I was reminded of the limitations they placed on themselves when they decided halo 5 had to be 60 fps. horrible textures in places, bad draw distance, foliage disappears 30 feet in front of character. And then there’s the beloved split screen feature they decided should take a back seat for 60 fps to make the game more attractive to e-sports. Really, really dumb.

If they have half a brain they will look on the back of the box, or in the information about the game if bought digitally.
Split screen isn’t being removed just from halo. Its fading all together.

When I was playing campain I realise that game was definitly designe to play in co-op with friends. Very angery and frustrated that I can not play on spitscreen I say to my self : ok try to play co-op throu xbox live. Very naiv I imagine that on-line co-op will be like in original gears. (that was only game I try on-line co-op because for co-op there was always friend with me sitting on couch) You will enter to loby just choose join or host campain and then you are playing with someone ramdomly choose. Guess what? You can not if you dont have on-line friends. I dont have online friends. My friends sitting with me on couch next to me. That sucks.
