Besides Fragmentation, I think Launch Site is the most « Halo » map in the game. People have gotten used to the recent COD like 3 lane maps like Streets, Live fire, Aquarius, Bazaar, (Recharge is cool). Notice how there’s barely anywhere to hide or any power positions or just interesting spots on these maps? Just generic corridors with the occasional box to get to cover.
Now these maps look great, but the gameplay is just a bit boring on them. You literally cannot go more than 3 seconds without fighting unless you’re sitting in a corner.
The asymmetric layout of Launch Site reminds me of great classic maps like Zanzibar, Isolation and is great to play in multiple ways. The map is a breath of fresh air for 4v4, and would absolutely not work for 12v12.
